We had the best stay! Specacular view with Seljalandsfoss waterfall in the distance Incredibly quiet and scenic but convenient to the main Ring Road. Very covenient to taking the Ferry to Vestmannaeyjar and trips to Skogafoss, Dyrholaey, Vik, Reynisfjara, and Lava Museum. Once we had a question and communicated to the host. Within 5 minutes someone instantly came to help us out - amazing! Unit was clean, comfortable, and beautiful. Highly recommended all around! Would definitely stay again!
Review Had a fabulous time at Aurora lodge. Fantastic location for visiting the the south coast waterfalls, glaciers and black beach, horse riding at the Hestheimar. Easy to get to Golden Circle. Close to a supermarket and couple of restaurants. There are a number of self service petrol stations along the way. The lodge itself has ovely cosy feel. Nice relaxing areas with great views. 2 hot tubs with choice of temperature. Views over Hekla volcano. Rooms are a decent size. Comfy beds, the room is clean and warm. Toiletries and kettle provided. (Only one tea and coffee though. Sure I could have asked for more but I felt awkward. Just wish they would put a few out) Breakfast was lovely. Cereals, breads, pastries, pancakes, yoghurts, jams, bacon, sausage, egg and beans. Tea, coffee and fruit juice. I really really enjoyed my time here the staff are lovely. I have two issues for feedback and they are NOT complaints. The road to the lodge is about a mile on a dirt track. In the dark you had to go very slowly for potholes. I was probably being extra careful as in a hire car. Secondly I booked way in advance and asked if I could guarantee a room with a north facing view (I was willing to pay) I was told there were no rooms specifically facing north all rooms would have good view of the Aurora if it were to appear. On arrival there were many rooms that were facing north and by then all were full. The Aurora did appear but too many lights on the cabin doors that spoil a weak display and make it hard to see. I ended up sat at the side of my lodge to see the Aurora with a coat over the light to try and darken the area I was in. Overall fantastic stay and I will return! Had a fabulous time at Aurora lodge. Very confortable room / beds / pillows. Water kettle and hardryer available in the room, which is no local standard. TV. Well heated. Clean. Well illuminated bathroom. Coffee and tea available in the hall. Inhouse restaurant, 2 hot pots, bar. Supermarket nearby. Unfortunately, the shower system does not work: if you are lucky, you only need to wait for ages until hot water is available. If you are not lucky, you will have to wait for your next hotel to have a shower. This was not only my experience here. For this reason, I drastically reduced my rating: had it been possible to have a shower here, this hotel would have been rated 3 points.

I am writing to express my disappointment with my recent stay at your mountain cottage. As the most expensive accommodation of our week's holiday, I had high hopes and was eagerly anticipating a comfortable and enjoyable stay. However, I regret to inform you that the experience was anything but pleasant. Firstly, the cottage (no 8) was in a state of disrepair, with broken glass and a board of wood hastily hammered onto the front door. The interior was equally disappointing, with a dirty and dusty atmosphere that suggested that it had not been properly cleaned or maintained. The cottage smelt old and felt cramped, leaving us feeling uncomfortable and cramped during our stay. Additionally, the bath towel provided was the size of a hand towel, and there was no bathmat or hand towels left for us to use. These small amenities are essential for a comfortable stay and their absence made our experience even more unpleasant. The walls were dirty with dust and grime, light switches were dirty, stains and dirt on radiators. Chipped crockery. Old, torn and ripped blinds. No door on the bedroom. Overall, I must say that the cottage was not worth the £150 per night that we paid. It was far from the charming and cozy mountain retreat that we had envisioned. The only positive aspect of our stay was that the cottage was warm and had hot water. I understand that issues can arise, but I hope that you will take our feedback seriously and take steps to improve the quality of your accommodations. I also hope that you will take action to address the problems we encountered.

Still very good, friends are very happy to live together, the location is on the way to Reykjavik to Vic. Close to a big waterfall. Skoga Falls or Sriyalan Falls can't remember.
Hotel Fljotshlid was one of the best hotels we stayed at for our honeymoon adventures in Iceland. A little secret hideaway. The rooms were comfortable, spacious and clean. The restaurant served a hot buffet in the evening, which was fantastic for those travelling and wanting a warm hearty meal after a long day. The staff were attentive and helpful. The surrounding areas were beautiful and picturesque. For those wanting to stay and chill for a bit longer, they even have books, games, puzzles and even a pool table. All this for a reasonable price. We would highly recommend this hotel.
The property is located in the isolated Icelandic countryside. It can be easily reached from the Ring Road by following the signs. Upon arrival you must notify your arrival via telephone and the managers arrive within minutes to give you the key. The room is large, as is the bathroom but it did not have a kitchen (I did not investigate whether it was possible to use the one in the building). DVD player and large DVD collection available. Very clean facility. I decided to try the breakfast (to be counted separately...): very fresh products that I liked. Very comfortable beds. Unreal silence. Nice and sociable Icelandic horses in the enclosure adjacent to the structure
This hotel remembered me of a military barrack in the middle of nowhere. You have to drive 2 or 10 kilometers (depending on the direction you come from) of unpaved road to reach it. The lobby simply doesn’t exist, you only see the reception desk and some white tables and chairs, the style of a hospital cafeteria. Not a sofa or even an armchair. Rooms are minimal but comfortable, except the floor wiper present in the bathroom, that you have to use to dry the tiles since the shower is completely open. If you are really motivated you can have dinner - mainly with hamburgers - that need to be ordered in advance. Otherwise you have to drive about 20 kilometers to reach the nearest café or small restaurant. Definitely not the right place to stop if you are already a bit tired.

LLaurie DaviesAbsolutely stunning location, with amazing facilities including a great restaurant and a spa which is certainly unique for a hostel! The rooms were cozy, the staff were lovely. What more could you want! I would definitely recommend this place, and hope to visit again.
