We first visited Modica Palace Hotel last summer and loved it so much we decided to return. We soon found that things had dramatically changed. We were old the hotel had changed hands. Skeleton staff, dinner that used to be amazing but now on a set menu that never changes so for us with the half board would have meant eating the same things for a week. The staff tried to help but we were not enjoying our meals at all. There were only 4 people dining in the restaurant each night whereas last year it was always full and despite this we had to wait for hours to be served. On more than one occasion our food did not arrive as ordered and we sent it back. On our last night I ordered a steak well done and I received it rare at which point we just got up and left. It is obvious that there are issues at management level, cost cuts is the one standing out but what was unacceptable was the Manager's behaviour. When we asked for a refund on our meal he got angry and his behaviour was quite aggressive, he told us there were no problems with the hotel and the reviews were good. He was not interested in listening to our feedback and he just left while we were talking and slammed the door on us. If I was the owner of this business I would be worried. A good manager always tries to accommodate customers and listen to their issues even act out on them so that customers do actually go back. I have recommended this hotel to so many people but will no longer do that and definitely will not return. It's such a shame.
The small inn is a B&B surrounded by a beautiful garden. We had asked for a double room but there was availability of a triple room which was actually a bit small, in fact we had to ask the lady to take a chair away because we were afraid of tripping especially at night. However, both the room and the bathroom were spotless and furnished with excellent taste. The breakfast was varied and plentiful. Parking inside the B&B is a bit inconvenient. The owner was very kind and helpful and gave us various suggestions on where to dine and how to get around Modica. The price more than acceptable. A B&B to definitely recommend

Personale molto gentile e disponibile. Da solo fuori gruppo non ci tornerei
Hotel is in a great location in town although the walk back up the steps from the main street is a challenge after dinner; there was a longer walk without the steps. The Hotel promotes its art credentials so is a little different but not in a negative way. Room (102 I think but called the Blue Room) was a reasonable size (good for Europe), clean, new and colourful with a great balcony view over the town. The bed was comfortable. Two complaints however, were the hi-tech power / light panel that required some getting used to and the shower that leaked onto the bathroom floor due to poor design / finish. Otherwise the bathroom was fine. Wi fi was included and good and the breakfast was in a nice space with a good choice. There was a lift from reception to upper floors but stairs from the street to reception - no problem except for those in a wheel chair or the like. Staff was helpful when available but reception was often empty - seems staff number did not match demand?

Glorious family palazzo of gianpiero’s ancestors and family Gianpiero is a delightful and exemplary host The palazzo is beautiful, the breakfast area gorgeous and the location of the palazzo is in walking distance to many fine restaurants including one literally next door Breakfast is given attention to detail by gianpiero from the croissants (filled with Nutella or custard ), biscuits and pain de chocolat to savoury options yoghurts fruits and juices Nothing more delightful than to pass time dining with a morning breeze coming into the period decorated room The bedroom came with a queen and two single beds and a lovely and spacious shower The only problem was my cousin had trouble negotiating some of the stairs due a recent leg injury , but that is and was a common occurrence in much of the areas we travelled as most were in the old towns

We sadly only stayed one night. As we arrived in Sicily via a ferry from Malta, then a taxi from the port - we didn't have any control over our timings which meant we arrived at the hotel very early (about 10.30am), certainly before current customers had even checked out! However, we were greeted in a very friendly and welcoming manner, offered coffee, a place to leave our suitcases, and use of the pool - although we chose to explore Modica instead. Once we were able to check in, the room was clean and bright, with a comfortable bed, good AC, and a lovely balcony with an amazing view of the town! We then made use of the pool - very refreshing temperature. Breakfast the following morning had a good selection, and it was lovely to enjoy the view as we ate. As our bus to Noto wasn't until the afternoon, we were able to store our suitcases again and keep using the pool way after we'd checked out - very much appreciated! This hotel is high above the town, hence the fab view; however, there are many, many steps if you don't have a car. There are 333 - yes, we counted them! Helped burn off some of the pizza, I suppose 😊. It's a really nice place to stay, great amenities and lovely staff

You will not regret it.
Modica Boutique Hotel is classified as a 4-star, but for me, it beats a 5-star hotel, by far!
THANK YOU MODICA BOUTIQUE HOTEL FOR MAKING OUR STAY SO WONDERFUL!
Stayed here for couple of nights during a recent visit to Sicily. Location was perfect, about 10 min walk from bus drop off & just behind the main road of the old town. The owners were friendly & helpful. We had couple of problems accessing our key box & they turned up within 10 mins to help. Access codes to get into the property had been sent within minutes after we had confirmed our reservation online - a day before we had arrived in Sicily. Cleanliness - property was clean, rooms were clean & modern. Decor & furniture too. Price was reasonable considering location & facilities. Communal kitchen with free coffee & tea was a welcome added bonus! All in all, very happy and would: 1. Definitely recommend it. 2. Stay here again.
GGuest UserLovely Hotel. The Junior Suite was an excellent choice for the family, being very spacious with separate rooms. Just a few seconds away from the main block. Parking space available for anyone travelling by car and the hotel services where great. Breakfast was included and was an excellent choice to start off the day. My priorities where met, comfort, cleanliness, onsite parking and wonderful surroundings.
My sister and I had the immense pleasure of visiting Modica in May of this year. Our first trip to Sicily was a very pleasant surprise. This started with our accommodation in between Modica Alta and Modica Bassa. Nestled away below the steps of St Giorgio's Cathedral, the Siciliando is located in the perfect position to get to know the true side of Monica. Best of all, the welcome from Rosalina and Graziana was fab. They are in the process of renovating their beautiful palazzo (not that you would notice any disruption) and there is a wonderful sense of calm. Our room was in the newer part of the property so clean and crisp. The room was cleaned everyday and used towels replaced daily together with clean sheets after a few days. This is rare in B and Bs Breakfast is included and includes all sorts of homemade preserves and a freshly baked cake! Due to the location, away from the main roads, it was very quiet too. The only downside is the steps. This was not a problem for us but could be for others so it's worth checking with them. They will come to your assistance but obviously you'd need to inform them. All in all it was superb value and made our visit truely memorable!
