Outstanding
We had a wonderful time during our holiday in Pistoia at a lovely family-owned hotel. The staff was excellent, especially Sara, who became my favorite! We had planned to stay for six nights but ended up extending our stay to seven because we enjoyed it so much. The hotel was clean beautiful, and the staff was very friendly. The beds were super comfortable, and the breakfast was good. The hotel's location in the center of Pistoia was very convenient, and the staff gave great recommendations for places to eat and visit. The parking was close to the hotel, and I felt safe there. We are already looking forward to visiting again next year. We will be coming back! Goodbye to all of you, and many thanks once again to the excellent and lovely Sara! Maja and Alex

My husband and I spent 2 days at this hotel although we paid for three. We ended up leaving a day early to stay at a nearby hotel with a pool and free breakfast and a view. So the positives of this hotel: - the AC - we were there in July so it was HOT - there is a gym. It’s small and for some reason, the AC was not on the 3 days we used it so it was like a sauna, but there is a gym. - relative close proximity to restaurants and beach. Very walkable. Negatives: - COST. Of everything. We ordered 2 coffees to be delivered to the room. It cost 20 euro. - Breakfast was not included in the cost of the room. - no one explained anything to us when we checked in. No how to get on the wifi, no how to call the front desk, no nothing. The check in was very abrupt. - the room was in the lower level of an adjacent apartment building. And it backed up to the train tracks. Fortunately, the trains are not very loud but still, you can certainly hear them - the pillows and the beds - FLAT. Hard. But in all fairness, I can’t say we had soft mattresses or pillows in any hotel we stayed at this trip. - no view Overall, I wouldn’t stay at this hotel again. It was comfortable and met the basics, but way too pricy for what it was.

GGuest UserI visited here with a group to see the Puccini Opera Festival. The hotel is spotlessly clean with lovely staff and a great pool. Breakfasts were excellent - wide choice, fruits, cooked eggs, meats etc and plenty of it. My only cavil was with the first set evening’s meal - a miserable chicken leg and a few chips. However our tour guide did complain and the second set meal was excellent. This complaint seems to have been given before - and not always heeded. Villa Capuggi is such a nice hotel that I wonder why they stint sometimes - even though the cost of living crisis impacts here too. Just a little more luxury and this would be the perfect Italian hotel.

Exquisite Spa with Thermal Cave Diving! 3 large thermally heated pools anchor the ancient estate. Staff is very helpful, from Concierge to wait staff. Excellent LI Iced Teas by request. Room was upgraded for Titanium and overlooked the expansive estate. I did the Thermal Cave Dive. This was a very advanced Dive though they require only PADI Open. I have about 25 lifetime dives which is a medium amount for a tourist. 2 guides with 3 divers, 5 ppls Single file, 75 minutes under…..crawling through tight spaces, vertical chutes, rock walls. Tank and air lines regularly bang and get stuck. This is recommended for very experienced divers, who have no claustrophobia and are mentally sound and calm under pressure. I passed the test and was mentally a bit stirred for about a day. Guides were very good but this dive would have unique challenges if something goes wrong due to enclosed nature.

GGuest UserSuper location and nice rooms. Unfortunately a lot of coach parties arrived during and stay so it was super busy. I actually caught covid from one of the party who coughed all over me :(( Also when I asked for a towel for poolside I was rudely spoken to. Breakfast nothing special and breakfast room too busy Would stay again but choose my time

The Grand Hotel Plaza is a lovely, slightly old fashioned hotel in the very centre of Montecatini Terme. It is a grand old building with beautiful sweeping staircases, high ceilings and chandeliers. We stayed there for 10 days in a room on the first floor overlooking the central square. Our room was a reasonable size with a large bathroom. We found the air conditioning worked well. Although we were right above the square, the combination of double glazing and shutters kept the noise from outside to a minimum and didn't disturb our sleep. It was wonderful to walk out in the evening after dinner to enjoy the music in the square. We stayed half board and very much enjoyed the food. There was a set menu but with choices for first and second courses. Our waitresses were really helpful with my husband's food allergy, pointing out which choices were suitable for him or which could be adapted by the kitchen to make them suitable. All the food was typically Italian, very fresh and delicious. The helpfulness of the waitresses was matched by the standard of service we had from all the staff in the hotel. Other reviews have mentioned Elena who was in charge of the hotel pool and we agree she was there to make sure everyone she came into contact with had the best holiday possible. The hotel is a short walk from the station from where we made several trips to the beautiful cities of Florence, Lucca and Pisa as well as nearer towns of Montecarlo and Pescia from where we had some wonderful walks. Overall a lovely, grand hotel with amazing staff. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

DDeft21I booked a five night stay here with Tailored Travel. The website of the hotel really raised expectations showing light and airy rooms with beautiful drapes. After paying a hefty single supplement our rooms could not have been more different . The first one I was shown had a tiny skylight with an odd net drape. Im fairly short so couldn't see out. You had to duck under this curtain to walk around the bottom of the bed. No wardrobe just a rod with some hangers. I refused to stay there. The second room offered was in the lower ground floor. The ” French ”door could hardly be opened as there was an electric car charger just outside in the car park. The bathroom was tiny and narrow. I measured it and it was approximately two A4 sheets wide. Anyone over 5foot 3 would have hit their knees on the towel rail using the loo or bidet.. Other single rooms for solo occupancy were equally as poor. Either no chair, no dressing table unit no proper window etc just an unpleasant place to stay. Beds are rock hard. Totally unacceptable accommodation for a hotel purporting to be 4star. The website shows a kettle with cups and one assumes coffee and tea would be provided as is the norm on a hospitality tray . When we queried where the coffee and tea was we were told coffee was available from a vending machine on the first floor ! However this wasn't sachets etc but actual coffee. Why provide a kettle but nothing to use with it ? Food for the party was very average. Maybe the al la carte was better. Most of the waiting staff were off hand. Once when I asked the waitress for something it was almost slapped down in front of me . One waiter only actually used to smile at us when we walked into the restaurant and was helpful and friendly. I wish I had found out his name . We did not feel very welcome. Amazingly on our last night the waiting staff became very attentive and we then noticed the tip envelope on our table. Pity they hadn't been like it all the way through our stay. There seems to be mention of a spa but this was shut and looked like it had been for a long time. Maybe if you book this as an individual you might have a better stay. If you're travelling with a party and also paying a single supplement AVOID. Maybe other nationalities had better luck and Hotel Tettuccio ( I won't use Grand it isnt ) thought because we were English we wouldn't complain . WRONG.
