"Hashimoto is the closest to Koyasan if you can’t get a place there. The 40-minute (or so) ride on train and cable car is very beautiful so not too onerous going back and forth. The hotel’s a 22-minute walk to the train station but there is a bus that passes nearby at 9:19am. The large sushi chain outlet across the street is a blast—ridiculously cheap and some good options—you can figure out how to use it: match the Japanese character on the moving tray to that on your table. All good at the hotel."
"The hotel is very well maintained and offers an excellent quality price ratio. The staff have done everything to serve me and to accommodate me. Thank you very much. Yes, this accommodation is a little far from the Hashimoto station, but I've still enjoyed being in this area. It's very quiet; perfect for rest. You can find a 7-Eleven and good restaurants. If you need to walk to Kamuro Station, you will be walking through a beautiful residential area where there are beautiful heritage houses."
"Our room was on the second floor, and the window faced the outdoor unit of the air conditioner on the roof of the first floor. I wanted to change to a room on the third floor. Two Vietnamese people were at the front desk. They said that the third floor was full of dirty rooms, so they finally took me to the third floor. A small room, which is clean at all, but much smaller than my original room. He also said that the window of my room looked up to the mountains. I wanted to eat in the evening, but I couldn't find one without making a reservation in advance. I walked 1.5 kilometers to a restaurant on the main road opposite a gas station. Breakfast is a big pickle party. The hotel is in a good location, in the mountains, not far from the train station. However, the two Vietnamese front desk staff have a very bad attitude, and the breakfast is not satisfactory. A good hotel is a waste of money."
"The owner of Onsen took us free from Koysan and then brought us back. Very polite, friendly and caring staff, delicious breakfast, the cottage itself is very large and the footons are soft and warm. The view from the window was fantastic! In onsen itself, unfortunately, have not come in, if you have tattoos, then take patches for them in advance. Nearby very beautiful landscapes, you can walk. It feels calm. Also we bought fresh mandarins and delicious things on the road. Recommended! With the staff, they communicated by mail and live in English, everything is excellent!"
Kudonoie is a charming guesthouse just a 5minute walk from Kudoyama Station offering beautiful views of the peaceful mountain village from every room Its the perfect base for exploring Mount Koya Koyasan with easy access to temples and hiking trails Enjoy the tranquil countryside atmosphere warm hospitality and the feeling of traditional Japanideal for travelers seeking relaxation and local culture
"I was the only one who used the whole hotel that day. The experience of one person is really superb. At night, the manager's grandfather didn't seem to live in the hotel but went straight home. There is no toilet and bathroom in the room, and there is a shared one in the hotel."

"+The location was really nice, very serene with lots of mountains surrounding the ryokan;
+Relatively easy to access (pretty far from Osaka, but close to the train station);
+Staff speaks English, so you shouldn't have issues with communication;
+They have a lot of instructions/maps/manuals on how to fully enjoy the ryokan, so you shouldn't have trouble figuring out the basics.
~Food was mostly ok, nothing bad or spectacular, good portions;
~Although they do have some SPA elements, it's really not a lot (basically nothing except hot springs and massage)
-It's certainly on the older side (not in the sense of it being particularly historical, rather that it would benefit from some renovations), but maybe that adds to the ambiance for some people;
-The actual inn territory is rather small, so you won't have much to explore without going outside.
Overall, I think it's a good first ryokan to familiarize yourself with the culture a bit, but I wouldn't necessarily refer to it as particularly impressive/authentic experience."
