"I previously stayed at Hotel JAL City Kokura and was quite impressed with JR West's hotels, so I booked a room at their Okayama location directly. After getting off the Shinkansen, I headed in the opposite direction of Kokura Castle (I think it was the Sports Park exit, I've forgotten a bit, but definitely the opposite direction). Once I saw GU, I took the elevator straight up to the lobby to check in. Since I was going to Kurashiki, I dropped off my luggage at the front desk beforehand. I returned in the evening to check in. The room was newer than the one in Kokura, but significantly smaller. It takes about half an hour to walk from the hotel to Okayama Castle; basically, you just walk straight down Momotaro Avenue from the station. I took the tram back. Here, you can pick up toiletries in the lobby, but no drinking water is provided in the room. This wasn't a big issue though, as there are several convenience stores and small supermarkets downstairs, and if you walk a bit further, you can even explore Aeon and Takashimaya."
"Location is not fantastic. Staff especially the Japanese staff are not helpful. The non-Japanese staff are kind to help but seniority not there, had to obey the Japanese senior."
"Absolutely delighted with my stay at this hotel!
First off, I received a complimentary upgrade to a spacious 32 sqm room.
What's more, the included travel pass offered a choice of three different perks, which proved to be incredibly handy.
The hotel's location is also extremely convenient, with direct access to the JR station directly from the second floor."
"The staff at the front desk were welcoming and attentive, and communication was seamless. The location is excellent, surrounded by numerous commercial areas, making it incredibly convenient for transportation. The hotel boasts a quiet ambiance and comprehensive, well-maintained facilities."
"Location is perfect as the hotel is connected to the Okayama station by underground passage. Bicamara store is also directly below the hotel reception and can be accessed by escalator.
Breakfast is poor. It’s a half buffet with six main dish choices. The dish portion is tiny (comes with huge chinaware though) and tastes poor. The buffet includes just the bare minimum.
The room is fine. Spacious but smells moldy.
In short: great location, good for a quick rest."
"Going island hopping from Okayama to Uno Port (for Teshima and Naoshima) was the best decision of this art festival trip! Staying in Okayama provided food and drinks, and there were plenty of boats that didn't require a 6 a.m. queue. During the festival, you had to get up at least 6 a.m., which was much better than Takamatsu. The hotel's free bathhouse was a lifesaver for those trudging through the art festival. The vending machines were convenient for buying water, and they even had power banks for rent. The washing machine was 300 yen per wash, though I didn't use it for drying, which was enough. Laundry is so important on a long trip. Okayama Station is a five-minute walk away, with an underground passage right outside. It's surrounded by Okayama's bustling district, with major shopping malls all around. Aeon Mall, a ten-minute walk away, has my favorite Japanese brands, Niko and Frank Store. Sun Station (Is that the name?), a shopping mall just down the street from the station, also has sports and boutique stores. On my last day, I even walked to Beams, which took about twenty minutes. Next door was Big Camera, where I couldn't stop shopping. There were several convenience stores along the way, the closest being the FamilyMart downstairs. You can see the sign for Kani Doraku right as you exit the station, and the food is really good value for money. I walked to Korakuen Garden in just over ten minutes, stopped by Little Fox Cafe, and also had brunch at the nearby Gaofen Brunch Shop. I walked to the Okayama Tenjinyama Cultural Center designed by Kunio Maekawa and happened to see the Okayama Local Art Festival. It was really nice to see the architecture and art. I was originally going to go to Okayama University to see Kazuyo Sejima, but I didn't have time, so I gave up. It was perfect to go back to Okayama Station, Osaka Airport, from Okayama. I look forward to coming again next time!"
"Had good dinner , dinner last order at 830pm with 2 sets of choices , breakfast start at 630am buffet style, coffee machine out of order, female onsen need to get key from reception counter and use another lift to go up , washing machine is 300 yen and dryer 100yen , able to communicate with simple English. Near to Aeon mall. Okayama JR take East exit"
"The hotel is in a good location, just 5 minutes away from Okayama Station. There are large shopping malls nearby, so it is very easy to find food. The hotel's self-service check-in is also very convenient, and the staff are also happy to help if you have any questions. I really like the breakfast at Toyoko Inn, it's delicious!"
"It's close to the station, easy to find, and in a great location.
I was also grateful that they were so kind as to let me leave my luggage before check-in.
As for amenities, you can collect only the ones you need from the front desk.
There were no problems.
The washrooms were also very clean. I was impressed that the faucets were sparkling clean.
I didn't order breakfast this time, but I think I'll order it next time I visit.
I've stayed at Washington Plaza in other cities, so the Wi-Fi had already been set up and I was able to connect easily."
"Overall, a great stay. The room was quite spacious; I could comfortably lay out my 24-inch suitcase. Toiletries were provided, including small samples of DHC cleansing oil, toner, and moisturizer. The location isn't super close to the station, but it's an easy walk to JR Okayama Station. Breakfast was also very good. The overall flavors were on the milder side, but you could add soy sauce to taste. Compared to several other hotels I've stayed at, this one offered a wider selection of desserts. The cream puffs were absolutely delicious! And the grilled sausages were excellent, with a crispy skin and plenty of juice."

Great
KkennyleiThe hotel is next to the underground railway station. It is very convenient to get in and out by car. There is a convenience store nearby. Bread is provided in the lobby in the morning but it costs more. Coffee and ice water are provided in a self-service style for free.
AAnonymous UserPerfect location, main station close by, convenience store just a couple minutes away. The room was also not too bad, though it wasn't entirely clean. Some dust haven't been cleaned, in mostly unnoticable places though, like really high up or behind the TV. And even though we haven't met any staff members it wasn't that hard to check in or check out. Though there was difficulty of getting inside the building, as we didn't receive the door code through email. Good thing there were some helpful residents of the hotel who helped us to get inside. Either way final score would be 8.5/10
PPipiaichijiangyoumanyufanIt's very convenient to stay here when I transfer to an early flight from Narita Airport to Shikoku. It's a small area but I don't feel cramped. I'm quite satisfied with it. Disposable toothbrushes and slippers are provided. There were few people when I stayed there, so it was quite quiet.
KKaiara2597The location is nice. Although, I got a smaller room than I saw in the pictures, I couldn’t stand up straight because the roof was so low. Also, there was a short went to another room and I had to craft a curtain because the light from the other room shined straight on my face and you can’t sleep the other way around because there’s not enough room. Furthermore, even though I left my keys for the cleaners, they just left the clean towels and sheets outside my room and told me to do it and the key was left in my door. But the showers and toilets was nice and you have privacy which is nice.
