"We loved the proximity to such a wonderful beach, which was beautiful clean and undisturbed. The service at the resort was top notch, ranging the poolside personnel who took care of all over needs to housekeeping who were attentive and proactive in their cleaning and tidying. We were also impressed by the facilities - the pools were fantastic as was the buffet meals. Special shout out to yoga master Roland, who conducted a bespoke class for us and was able to cater to our different levels of flexibility and technique. His manner also made us feel extremely at home - thank you Roland!"

"Laid-back, local, and lovely in its simplicity. If you’re looking for a slice of tropical paradise on a budget, Palm Beach Inn & Sea Shells Cabana in Bentota is a cozy, no-frills gem just a few minutes from the beach. The beach is just a 2–3 minute walk away, you should cross the railway and walk through a little jungle. We met a bearcat and a peacock. At night we saw fireflies. It looked really magical, like in a fairytale. The cabanas are simple with basic furnishings, safe, ceiling fan, A/C. It’s not a luxury resort, but the ambiance is warm and homely. If you're a fan of nature and don’t mind the occasional gecko, this is your place. Breakfast is usually fresh fruit, eggs, and toast—simple but tasty. Perfect for solo travelers, backpackers, or couples wanting a quiet retreat without spending a fortune. PROS: Very close to Bentota Beach Peaceful garden setting Affordable rates"

"The Smiths Paradise Road Hotel was booked on Ctrip.com, but the locals had never heard of this name. It is called the villa, also known as KK Collection. This is Bawa’s Mohoti Manor, which was the old ancestral home in the 1970s. It was later bought by Bawa and turned into the first boutique hotel in Sri Lanka. Bawa asked several friends to buy it but none of them bought it, so he finally bought it himself. It must be very interesting. You can see the train through the window on the wall, and there are railway tracks and the Indian Ocean outside the yard. The hotel is a bit like a small Western-style building on Gulangyu Island in Xiamen. It is small, exquisite and beautiful, suitable for taking photos and checking in. On that day, I happened to see a group of people taking wedding photos for the newlyweds. The room was luxurious and comfortable. When I saw a train passing by, I quickly took two short videos. Master Bawa's architecture deserves a high score."

"The building is beautiful as is the art work. Excellent pool and wonderful gardens giving easy access to the beach. Service is very attentive and the meals are extremely good ( great banana bread!). A great place to relax and enjoy a few days of rest. It is good value for money and food and drink is very reasonable but don’t get your laundry done here it is ridiculously expensive."
