We stayed in August 2019 I am only now reviewing as hadn’t used trip advisor then and I have to say it was the most romantic beautiful hotel that I have ever stayed at. The room was beautiful and the staff were lovely. The room was a little dark at times but that adds to the vibe! Would 100% stay here again when returning to the area. If you are looking for romance and ambience this is the place to go!!

My stay at this hotel was a nightmarish experience from start to finish. The level of cleanliness and hygiene was shockingly subpar. The sheets on my bed were clearly not washed, the room hadn't seen the likes of a vacuum cleaner in ages, and to top it off, there were no basic toiletries provided in the bathroom. Instead, I found remnants of someone else's body wash, a truly repulsive discovery that added to the overall sense of neglect. As if the state of the room itself wasn't bad enough, there wasn't even a bin in the room, and the stench that hung in the air was nothing short of atrocious. In our desperate attempt to salvage the situation, we made our way downstairs to seek assistance from the front desk, but our wait for the receptionist to show up only added to the frustration. Upon finally receiving another room, my hopes were quickly dashed, as it turned out to be in even worse condition than the first. The disappointment was palpable, and it was abundantly clear that the hotel's staff lacked the basic courtesy and professionalism that one would expect from any accommodation provider. To make matters even more disheartening, it appears that a significant number of the positive reviews I'd seen before booking this hotel are likely fake, which only deepens my sense of betrayal. In the end, we were left with no other choice but to cut our losses and abandon our reservation. It was an utterly repulsive experience that deserves nothing less than a 0 out of 10 rating, and I would strongly caution anyone considering a stay here to think twice and explore alternative lodging options.

The hotel is in the middle of some bars and restaurants which is great. You check in using a computer and there was no staff or check in desk, if you did need anyone (which we did) you would need to go into the restaurant and ask someone to help, however someone eventually saw us stuck as the machine wasn't working so we had to wait a little bit. There is a car park around the corner which was helpful, a ***** of shops round the corner also, and at the end there is the train station which is only two stops away from Dam square. The rooms were clean and comfortable, I really enjoyed this hotel and the area. The bars were nice and fun ****** right on your door step too. Most things aren't open early morning though and late at night.. not sure whats open on a Sunday round there either.. overall i would stay in this hotel again, really nice and convenient, it would just be nice if there was actual visual staff to help you and a hotel desk etc, you get into the hotel itself with your key card so i would not like to think what i would need to do if i came back in the early hours and it wasn't working.. hopefully there is someone at hand at all hours somewhere.. my other concern was we needed more towels and they also never cleaned our room when we stayed.. so the lack of staff and contact makes it difficult to ask for towels so we had to dry after a shower using a hand towel.. even with these concerns like i said we did really like this hotel and the area so would come back here..
Not in the center of Amsterdam, one stop from the windmill village, the environment can be, there is a kettle inside, it is more than the original booking price to go for one night seven euros national tax, two days 14 euros, the price of children is the same as adults, and finally It was the Ctrip staff who communicated with it and later returned it.
The overall service was amazing. The lack of crib when we arrived was a little let down but staff went above and beyond. We had 2 cribs at 9 am in the morning, best service from the staff. Friendly staff and great hotel
We loved our stay at Zaan Hotel. Fantastic location. It is just opposite to the train station, from where you can access trains to the airport, Amsterdam and various other destinations. The train to Amsterdam is only about 12 minutes ride. The train to the airport is only 3 stops away and about 18 mins ride. There is a fairly large supermarket opposite the hotel. It being in the heart of Zaandam, has several cafes, restaurants and beautiful shops as well as high street stores extremely nearby. We had a great time walking around the shopping street and also got to enjoy local Dutch food at the cafes. The hotel location is EXCELLENT in one word. Fairytale place is how we would describe Zaandam. We were very happy with the service at the hotel too. Our comfort family room was spacious. The fridge in the room is very useful. Our rooms were cleaned everyday and toiletries replenished. The staff were very helpful. All areas of the hotel are very well maintained, clean and nicely decorated. The breakfast was lovely too and so was the dinner. We would strongly recommend this hotel to everyone planning a trip in the Netherlands.
We came to this hotel because it looked quirky & to having a few relaxing days away with a couple of hectic Amsterdam days thrown in. The hotel was very good with decent sized rooms. We were on floor 11 with decent views of the surrounding area. There was a free safe in the room which is always a bonus which was straight forward to use. The hotel is situated in a great area for getting around with a bus & train station within 5 minutes walk. There is a shopping street pretty much straight outside which is decent if you need to buy anything. I forgot my toothbrush which fortunately I could pick up at the shop basically next door. Our room had a bath & shower which were easy to use. Although we never saw the housemaids our bed was made daily to a high standard. The hotel bar served breakfast which was continental but was perfectly adequate. The bar itself was ok with a decent variety of drinks & also serving food. The prices were what you would expect of a hotel of this standard. The staff were probably the hotels strongest point very friendly, very prompt & very helpful. I would like to give a shout out to 2 in particular. Benji & Daphne very polite & they couldn't do enough to make our stay impeccable. I would definitely go again if the opportunity arose. It's a first class hotel.
Pros : clean, great common space, nice big kitchen, locker is big and easy to use, love the cube compartements (bed). Cons : you hear the beat from the ****** or pub at night (put earplugs ) and no security so technicaly, anyone can come in your room (make sure to leave everything in locker) Neutral : Hostel is in Zaandam, not Amsterdam, but a 20 min train ride. Not a problem at all since public transit in this country is 10/10 Had a nice time chatting with some people, I would recommend !
I booked and paid in advance. I booked about three weeks before my arrival. But when I got there, I was told by the reception that I had to pay an extra €14.2. They told me that this was city tax, which tourists needed to pay. I really didn't understand it at that time. Because the receptionist received an email and was told to pay the tax, but I did not receive the notice at all. The key point was that it was not displayed when I made the appointment. So my decision is to contact customer service to solve the problem.

Zzhengtingoverall a good stay, but what you pay is what you get for, basic amenities only. no fridge or water boiler. but lobby had water dispenser. apart from that, if you reach earlier, early check in will be 20euros. and if you want to store your luggage at counter, will be 5 euros per locker. Huge shoutout to the friendly counter staff tho, very friendly and helpful, thankyou.
Aalberto.LewisReally nice hotel. Staff were super friendly and very helpful. The room was nice and clean and perfect for myself as a solo traveller. There is always someone at the reception so you can always receive help. Personally didn’t have the hotel breakfast, but heard from others staying at the hotel that it was really good. The only downside is the train station is like a 35-40minute walk, although it’s a long walk it’s very scenic and enjoyable but doing that kind of walk daily and sometimes twice a day was abit much and including walking back from the train station to the hotel. Trains run regularly to centraal so once you get to the station it’s not hard to get to Amsterdam centraal. You can also rent bikes, use busses and taxis also. Nonetheless impressed with this hotel and my stay here.
