Find the Cheap Olden Hotels

Prettily situated hotel with friendly and helpful receptionist. Few guests this time of the year - very calm. Tidy and in good condition. Neat rooms with fjord view, comfortable beds. We stopped by on our way back to Sweden after diving at nearby Lygnstøylvatnet. Got good value for money but would have liked more vegan options at the breakfast buffet (we booked only hours before arrival so they had no chance to prepare, otherwise they might have organised).

We visited Innvik Fjordhotell, not far from Stryn, in June 2023. The hotel is a nice place in a quiet village, with a strong Christian influence. It is known as “the mission hotel” and there is a room available for prayer or meditation. On our desk, there were two books: “The New Testament” and “When God Intervened”. We realized that this was not a typical hotel when we parked our car next to the Mission Hall in the same building. The hotel was clean, maybe not very modern, but well-maintained. It was fine for a one-night stay. There was a soccer match on TV, which had poor reception and quality. There was only one TV channel and luckily it showed the match. Our room was neat and tidy. The internet was good enough for me, although I rarely use public networks. The room had a narrow balcony, with a beautiful view of the fjord. There was a breakfast buffet and a dinner buffet, not gourmet, but decent and filling. A storm came over the fjord and we saw several lightning strikes, which was great entertainment. This hotel was a pleasant and comfortable place to stay, even if it was not the most remarkable or the best one. We are a couple in our 50s.

The host wasn't around when we arrived, but there was a phone number at the reception hut and things were sorted out quickly. The cabin is lovely with good facilities. Nice surroundings close to the water. There were no nearby restaurants open during this time of year (10th September), so we went to the supermarket to buy some groceries to cook dinner.  The kitchen is very complete to cook a decent meal, everything is there incl. salt, pepper and oil. Lovely modern and squeaky clean bathroom. Comfy bed and a large sofa to relax and watch TV. Good value for the money. 

What a place! Worth every penny. Excellent location for quiet time
