My stay was disgusting and the receptionist (manager) was rude, mean, dismissive and argumentative. She has no empathy, doesn't care, she acted like I was inconveniencing her by just checking in and checking out. She would stare at me with utter distain. No ounce of customer service skills. Then had the audacity to call me rude and told me to get people skills. I was merely reacting to her being nasty and my taking money. She has no professionalism what so ever constantly acts like she is annoyed. She acted like she owned me and was trying to be my mummy She yelled at me and stole my money. The accommodation is disgusting, I dont even know where to start Upon arrival I thought there was no one there, I was left standing there. I didn't realise the receptionist was in the office ignoring me until a lady with a duffle bag went into the office and I asked the lady if someone was there to which she said yes. So I went to pop head in to say hello and the receptionist set on me growling at me and being nasty telling me to get and go away. She was rude and treated me like a criminal during check in. The room was impossible to find but I found it eventually. She heartless and inconsiderate. It's not a hotel it's a hostel Upon check out the receptionist acted like she was pissed off that I wanted to check out. She growled me because I touched the reception desk, there was some old tape hanging off and I kinda played with it and she just kept growling me and yelling at me saying I was ripping it when I wasn't and she wouldn't let me speak or shut up. I had to yell over her to check me out. She refused to give my money back because there was a hair dye transfer from me bright red hair on a towel. I explained the dye is water soluble and it will wash out. Never mind that my makeup and mascara were on the towels. She staring yelling at me and would only give me 80 dollars in the end. She only gave it to me because I argued with her she was going to take the whole 100. I had folded the towels, emptied the rubbish wipes the floors. She had to unfold the towels like literally look through a customer's washing. She was looking for a reason not to give my money back. When I was trying to explain the room situation she yelled at me and talked over me I was just trying to have a discussion about the issues with the accommodation and she yelled at me and growled at me for not complaining sooner. I can actually raise an issue whenever I please. The fridge leaked in the middle of the night and I used a towel to clean that up. Out of courtesy I placed a towel on a pillow to sleep to avoid hair dye transfer. The room was gross the shared toilet and bathroom were gross there was urine on the underside of the toilets. The shared kitchen area was gross There's like a ventilation system above the bed covered with dust, grime and build up which fell on me and the bed so I pulled it away. No mirrors! The draws and furniture are so old and tatty and smell bad.

A very noisy hotel, bring ear plugs. We had a comfortable room with a clean bathroom and a fabulous church view. The rooftop bar was an added bonus. The location is great, but the single glazed windows and thin walls/door lets it down as there are a lot of late night party going people in this area who like to sing and shout at each other through out the night.

The Cambridge is a hotel that shows its age, with its threadbare carpets and a 'cage' style lift. The long, dingy corridor on our floor reminded me of the 1930s hotel in Barton Fink. That said, the place still has some old-world charm, aided by a pretty convenient location and excellent wifi. Our room was a bit of a tight squeeze, dominated by a king-size bed when a queen-size would have done. Bathroom was OK bar the skinniest hand basin I think I have ever seen. For those interested in self-catering, there is an excellent backpacker kitchen, clean and well equipped.

We were 3 adults + 1 child (10) in a family room with view to the street and we liked it very much. The room was clean and spacious with a small kitchen, which we however didn't use as we had breakfast included in the price. The breakfast was a fantastic buffet with everything that one could ask for. All in all we had a fantastic stay!

We had a wonderful stay and enjoying the great location and convenience of exploring the city. The room is newly renovated, clean and well kept. My daughter had the really delicious gelato as shown in the photo.

The location of the hotel is very good, in the city center, next to the Parliament Building, not far from the ferry, the room is spacious and clean, with kitchen facilities similar to an apartment, very suitable for family travel. The breakfast has fewer types than Hilton, but the quality is okay, 35nzd is half price for a child (my family is 3 and a half years old), and the hotel helps with parking for 40nzd, which is still very convenient. After all, the hotels in Wellington are basically not easy to park, after all, the city center is very expensive.
The view from the room is good, there is a green area outside the window, which is the local cemetery (the locals don't mind these, it's very similar to Japan), and I personally don't think it matters, after all, the environment is very good.

This was the greatest hotel I have ever stayed in. I'm over 'same same' hotels and marvelled at the grandness of the Wellesley. Of course, you can get 'grand' at lots of places but none have the class, history and location of this place. It was especially enjoyable because I am a Kiwi and value the heritage but I also loved the elegance of the staircase, opulent drapes, the timeless oak panelling, the well-placed wingback chairs, the high ceilings and ornamental plasterwork. On top of this, the hotel is right in the middle of the city, has a (welcome after a cold day) bath and possibly the whitest, fluffiest towels in the history of towels. It was quiet with a marvellously comfortable bed (with chocolates on the pillows no less). The staff were gracious and clearly have high expectations of cleanliness as it was spotless.

Room 302 was a spacious room which included beds for 3 people, a couch and a well equipped kitchenette with a table and 3 chairs to eat at. There was a cupboard for hanging clothes, as well as benches/shelves to put suitcases. The bathroom was a reasonable size with a good shower and full hand basin. Hand soap and body wash were provided. The toilet was clean but the seat could do with being replaced. There was ample off road parking. There were stairs as well as a lift to access the upstairs levels. The location of the motel was excellent for reaching Cuba Street, the waterfront (Te Papa) and Wellington CBD - a 15 min walk. We would happily stay here again.

Outstanding
The room was good, decent size , good facilities and right in middle of Wellington. It is a bit odd that front age on street is only a door wide and you catch a lift up to 4th floor reception and thence to room. No parking on site but thye provide space close by: however not easy to get cases from car down narrow steps and onto main street and back again.V convenient for all city centre attractions: TE Papa maybe 15 mis stroll along front: ferry port is not quite as close as it looks on map but still only 5 mins by car through city streets.

RRBieriChecked in late from a delayed flight. Reception was pleasant and handled our arrival professionally. Took a bit longer due to slow computer but he was always updating us on progress and was apologetic. Room was great. Full amenities and had four pillows in our king size bed! All fluffy and comfy. Quite room and since we arrived late, we got a check out extension which was really really nice. Location is center and walkable distance to many shops and restaurants. Would definitely use this hotel again.

GGuest UserIt's an older hotel and the halls smell a little funky but that quickly fades. The rooms show some signs of wear but are clean and have all the things you need. The bed was clean and comfy. The dining room was cozy and inviting. There seemed to be a little confusion in the kitchen, I know places are short staffed, but the food that arrived I really enjoyed. It is close to lots of things, I was on foot for this trip. The value was good for the price and I would stay here again.

GGuest UserWe have always enjoyed staying at QT Museum Hotel. We were given the option to upgrade to a Seaview room on the top floor with an additional charge. Seeing it is a more quiet room compared to my booking request on the 1st floor near road traffic and rubbish bin area, I paid the extra for the upgrade per night for 2 nights.
Our room was not serviced well the following day. Rubbish bin in the bathroom being the only one was not emptied. The Bath and Shower gel was not replenished, we had to asked for it to be refilled. the cushions on the bed was still on the floor from the night before, the ironing board was still left out - I did not put it back as the iron was still very hot after ironing my dress for my conference that morning. The gym facilities was very tired with all towels being used and the used towels bin was overflowing.
I was very disappointed with my stay this trip, using shortage of staff since Covid is a very old excuse now. Systems and procedures should be in placed by management to ensure the 5 star ratings is upheld. No point upselling or selling more rooms if they cannot keep customers happy to come back again. This was not only my opinion but that of my colleagues. very disappointing!

NNaenae418We have a blast, from the friendly staff, complimentary foods, the room and the aesthetic place. The location is good easy access for foods, entertainment and shop. We enjoy the breakfast it is worth it. A bit sad, the pool is not that well maintain during our stay. Next time, I hope how many people in the room equal to how many the toiletries (ex. Toothbrush) except for shampoo, body wash, conditioner and hand wash. We’ll come again for sure and recommend to people who plans to have a trip in wellington. Hence, the place is warm and overall the facilities and services are the best.

Good hotel in a handy central location. Good reception area, staff were friendly and welcoming. Not a modern hotel by any means but a classic feel to it.
Was assigned a wheelchair accessible room 507, Room was a small queen room that was clean and well appointed. Being a disability accessible room, the bathroom was huge and essentially a wet-room without a bath. Not that I wanted one, but you would expect to see one, normally.
Nearly slipped in the shower as I didn't find the rubber grip mat until after my shower as it was under the towels on the towel rail, where I didn't see it, rather than in the shower on the hand rail where I would.
Good to see they have done away with the plastic bottles for
Had an internal room facing another hotel block without a view, but this meant it was quiet. Wellington can get noisy on a Friday night but I slept well.
Check out took maybe 10 seconds.
Would stay again.

GGuest UserMy partner and I stayed at Hotel Waterloo & Backpackers for a weekend in Wellington. We had a private room with ensuite bathroom. The room was tidy and clean, located at the end of the hallway (quiet - Bonus point!). The staff was friendly as well. The Hotel is in a perfect location: close to the Beehive and in walking distance to the CBD, Te Papa, Cable Car etc. Can recommend!

GGuest UserMy family and I had an excellent stay. The view was great, our room and our beds were so comfortable. There were plenty of towels for all of us to have showers. The only thing that could improve is the choice of food that is friendly for families, especially for children. But yes was an ideal one night stay.

My partner and I stayed overnight in room 316 last night. We arrived and was quickly given our key card. The lady at the desk seemed nice enough. We got to the third floor and noticed the carpet in the hallway was filthy and lumpy. We felt like we would trip over! Entering the room, the linens were clean and the room had obviously had a 5 minute clean, but parts that were missed bothered us the most. On the textured ceiling, there was a thick layer of dust, so thick in fact, that it looked like dust bunnies were about to fall off, as shown in the photo. This made for an uneasy sleep, as it seemed very unhygenic. Splatters above the toilet and on the mirror in the bathroom were also noticed, as well as black spots from the ceiling due to mould. Wifi and the TV worked fine, but the heating element in our jug had turned black on the inside, and black bits were showing in our cups, so tea was out of the question. The next morning we had breakfast. This was the best part of our stay. Good options and plenty of food. Overall 2 stars. For this price, you'd expect better.
刘刘Hotel location is very good, in the center of Wellington, the parking lot is on the upper floor, to go up a steep slope, parking fee 15 NZ / day. The interior decoration is a bit antique and has a sense of history. The downside is that I arrived at the hotel on Christmas Eve, and the front desk was closed (should be at 7 pm), saying that I sent an email to me, but I didn't find it in fact. Still the cleaning guy, contacted me, opened the key box, and got the key.
