"The boutique hotel provides decent accommodation in Butuan. However, the indoor air quality was a major concern for us. The windows on the second floor are locked, and there is no possibility of proper room ventilation. When we arrived, the room smelled strongly of scented cleaning products, and one could feel the VOCs irritating the nose and airways. The room does not provide face towels, and if you ask for one, you can rent it for 70 pesos per day. Toiletries were provided upon arrival, but we did not receive more toothpaste when the small initial one ran out, nor additional soap. Several times a day, there are power blackouts, usually lasting only a few minutes. Overall, the place falls short in terms of hospitality and indoor air quality. On the positive side, it is clean, the room is spacious, and the air conditioning works well."
"Good location right beside a big shopping mall with plenty of shops and restaurants around.
New hotel, very clean and quiet. Huge king size bed. The elevator was down when I arrived so I had to climb the stairs all the way to the 5th floor.
But the staff was very nice and my check-in and check-out was smooth."
"The bad = the window are so dirty – cannot enjoy the view outside the window.
Some part of the hotel is run down, sign of leak roof but did not fix.
Breakfast is basic and acceptable.
Room is clean and WIFI speed is acceptable."
"I recently stayed at Amarah Hotel and had a wonderful experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff was welcoming, courteous, and always ready to assist. The check-in process was smooth and quick, setting a positive tone for my stay.
The room was clean, cozy, and well-equipped with everything I needed — comfortable beds, fresh linens, a strong Wi-Fi connection, and a spacious bathroom. I also appreciated the thoughtful touches like complimentary bottled water and toiletries.
One of the highlights of Amarah Hotel was the ambiance — modern yet homey, creating a perfect place to relax after a busy day. The restaurant served delicious food, with a good variety of dishes at reasonable prices. Breakfast was especially satisfying, with both local and international options available.
Location-wise, the hotel is conveniently situated near key spots, making it easy to explore the area. Transportation was accessible, and there were shops and cafes nearby.
Overall, I highly recommend Amarah Hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, affordable, and memorable stay. I’m looking forward to coming back again!"
"The staff was friendly and very accommodating. However, breakfast is the same every morning. and the aircon was noisy, we requested for a different room in the morning but was refused instead they offered to repair the aircon which was replaced the next day. we ended sleeping no aircon for 2 nights😥 also, the internet is very slow, i have to use my own, we cant even watch the netflix."
"The resort is spacious and we needed to ride a golf cart to get to the room. We could always walk but the pathway to the rooms are not ideal for luggages. The room we booked was great and had a smart TV (but you need your own credentials to log-in). It was also spacious and cozy. The pool is not that big but was good enough. The kiddie pool is nice since it’s not that deep and the water slide is a nice touch. The kids playground was also something that kids would enjoy. Wifi is also strong in all areas. The only hiccup in our stay was the breakfast buffet. They ran out of most food even though it was still ~8AM and refill took a bit longer. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would visit again soon."
"Super clean. The staffs are all friendly and accomodating. The place is so peaceful. If you want a place where you can just sit back and relax in your room. I suggest this."
"It’s a great place to stay.... Staff were friendly caring and pleasant, starting from the reception. Meals are very good and delicious...
Rooms are warm while outside is very cool. Well maintained hospital. I highly recommend the hotel for locals and foreigners. I would probably choose Orient hotel next time as I have experience warm welcomes of the staff, excellent service and pleasantness of hotel crew."
