"We were disappointed with our stay. We decided to treat ourselves and book a deluxe river view room. On arrival we discovered that the parking was a few streets away - a bit inconvenient and not as advertised. The room did indeed have a river view but the room was tiny. I am 5’7” and my partner is 6’3” and neither of us could enter the room without ducking down under the low doorframe. The ceiling in the room was very low and we both had to duck into the bathroom. I feel the ceiling height should be mentioned in the room listing as it really is very low and all but the shortest of guests would struggle. Luckily they had an upstairs room available, with a partial river view, which we changed to, at an added cost. The lady informed us that breakfast would be served in the restaurant across the road. She gave us a voucher for breakfast. When we woke up and went for breakfast the restaurant was closed and there was no one on reception to ask for help. We needed to check out and get our key deposit back but couldn’t find anyone to help us. After a few attempts of calling the hotel phone number I got an answer and a lady appeared a few minutes later. She took us to a restaurant a way down the street where we were able to get some food - this took ages to come and as we were already late in leaving due to no one being available to check us out we had to leave before all the food arrived. All in all we were really disappointed and felt that the price of the accommodation was not reflected in the standard of the room or the service we received."
