We needed to find a Hyatt the was located near the airport, Ford Museum, and the River Walk and this place was the place we were looking for. Each place was located within 20 minutes of each other to keep our car time to a minimum. The front desk girls were kind, happy, and helpful - always with a smile on their faces. The hotel has an indoor pool, exercise room, and a great free breakfast that was not your typical cold foods and juices. Eggs, sausage, potatoes, waffles, fruit, and the list goes on. If we come back to Lavonia, we will be staying here.
The room is large, clean and breakfast is OK. However, there is nothing near the hotel. There is a mall in the place where you can walk. There are also many restaurants nearby. It’s only from the Detroit airport that it’s only for rent.
I recently stayed here due to power outages in the area. I expected a decent stay since this property is fairly new. However, in this age of COVID, our room wasn't clean. The shower pan was dirty and stained and there was hair at the bottom. There was also visible dirt and hair in the sink as well as on a towel. We called down to get the bathroom clean (knowing they were sold out so no other rooms) and were just referred to a voicemail for the manager. Not one person offered to come up with a disinfectant or anything. Aside from the lack of cleanliness, the hotel had shotty construction. There are switches that don't work, the lights flickered and there were cracks in walls. There is also no sound barrier between the floors so we had to hear the people bouncing around all night which is something I expect from a cheaper place. There were signs that stated no smoking but you could smell it coming off the elevator....The only positive was the included hot and cold breakfast but I won't stay or recommend this place for someone to stay again. Overall, disappointed.
I stayed there 2 nights and I consider it the worst Marriott experience I've ever had. That's saying a lot since I've been a Marriott Elite member for over 35 years. I requested a top (4th) floor when I made the reservation as I wanted a quiet room. Since I'm 75 with health issues, having a good night's sleep is important to me. My longtime friend (also in her 70's) was along as we were going to visit Greenfield Village and I knew that would require some walking. Unfortunately, I was given a 2nd floor room when I checked in. It was difficult to unload the car as the parking lot was poorly lit unlike two other Marriott properties that were nearby. Walking to the room we had to pass dirty laundry in the hallway. (That wouldn't be picked up until the next day.) It resembled more like a dorm than a hotel. I could tell the hotel looked worn out and was need of an upgrade. It was not the typical Residence Inn that I'm I used to staying at. I later learned that renovations to the hotel had been delayed for several years. At 4:45 am of the first morning, I could hear loud thuds from the room above me. My friend could hear it from the other room too. The noise eventually stopped but resumed later. I went down to the front desk twice to complain about the noise. I was told there were no other rooms available for the second night. Later in the morning we went to Greenfield Village although we could have used more sleep. When we returned in the afternoon, we wanted to get some rest but once again we heard noise from above. I made a return trip to the front desk where I met Andrew. He was very caring and the only hotel employee to apologize for our difficulties. Andrew was able to find a room on the top floor, something no one else could or would do. Although the new room was quiet, there were problems with it. The toilet was leaking so we had put towels down on the floor. It was disgusting especially for my friend. The only problem we had with the first bathroom was that the toilet ran all the time. Also, two of the lights didn't work in the new room. During one of my visits to the front desk, I overheard a guest report that water was leaking from the ceiling of her room. That didn't surprise me. All I wanted was to have a pleasant, restful, and stress-free hotel stay with my friend but Marriott failed us.
I booked this room for a little getaway. The hotel was very nice on the inside(lobby), the room was clean and up to my standards. The only thing that I was unhappy about was I wanted a room with the patio, this was also in my reservations. However when I got to the hotel to check in, I was informed that they did not have any more rooms with a patio available. That was my whole point of choosing this particular hotel because of the patio. Had I known this ahead of time I would have chosen a different hotel. I would stay there again but I would call first to make sure the accommodations can be met.
Very comfortable beds, quiet, nice lobby and courtyard where we hung out with friends after returning from out 60th H.S. Reunion. Rooms were clean and very nice, but also are being updated and renovated right now. Bistro [breakfast] staff were friendly as can be, food came out of the kitchen promptly, with any empty dish cleared immediately. The staff were the best part. Front desk clerk Ashley helped us by printing a small document I needed from my e-mail on my phone, housekeeping manager Denise immediately offered assistance without being asked, to a tablemate who choked on his food, and I could go on and on about their kindnesses, always with a smile and great eye contact. The manger was very responsive to inquiries and requests, too. These folks each have a great personality and have been well trained. One of the Bistro staff was having great concern over family and friends suffering this weekend form the fires in Lahaina, Maui, but was attentive and professional in spite of her personal angst. A good value, we will stay here again.
I arrived around 3:35pm today.. I was out of the hotel by 3:43pm today. I waited in the lobby to check in for 8-10 minutes. As soon as I walked into the lobby I noticed an unpleasant smell. After check in I walked to my room, which was on the first floor, and the smells became worse and multiplied. The burnt orange colored walls had extensive dirt and stains, the carpet was visibly dirty and had tears. I walked pasted someone who was visibly under the influence of something or not doing well. After making it to my door, I placed the key in the door…the door was sticking so I had to push it open. (Not safe at all) but it only got worse from there. After gaining access to my room, I entered a completely dark room with the curtains closed. Normally at this point I drop everything and hop in the shower. However, I felt a breeze and an over all unsafe feeling. I went over to the window which was actually a sliding glass door. It was cracked open. Someone left the door open and unlocked for which I can only assume was to cause the next occupant great harm. I closed the door and locked it and decided between the smell, the lack of safety precautions, and the unsavory hotel guest I was leaving. All of this transpired within 2 minutes. I left my room and walked down the hallway and exited thru a side door. As I was walking thru the common area to my car I noticed a number of the sliding glass doors were cracked open. This place is not safe and I assume only harm would have come to me if I had stayed. Not only was it unsafe, it was dirty. There were stained towels in the bathroom the tub had orange and down staining like it had not been properly cleaned in years. This place is a complete train wreck. I actually have spent more time writing this than I did in the room.
I stayed here for two nights with my teenage son and his friend. Staff was very friendly and helpful, especially the breakfast attendant! She was very kind and checked on everyone, making accommodations as needed and keeping things very clean and stocked. The front desk staff was also very nice and always helpful, friendly and attentive. We would definitely stay here again.

TThegoodeggThis hotel is a “Fair”field We just stayed. The hotel was good enough but nothing exceptional. The positives: it was easy to park and go in, the room was mostly clean but not totally, breakfast was ok, the staff were kind and helpful. The negatives: the air system was awful, our room was hot and muggy and we could get the air to ever properly ventilate and the windows are screwed shut, there was a pill on the floor which feels troubling in the hotel room, there was hair and dirty smudges on the wall of the shower, the sink drain was slow and I asked for it to be repaired and it wasn’t attended to. Also this hotel is constructed in a way where every door slam, foot fall and sound is audible. Mercifully people were quiet during our stay but we always knew when our upstairs neighbors were up and walking around their room. It’s a cheap hotel, it’s clean enough but you definitely get what you pay for.

MMichelle CuthbertsonLove this place! Location is a little difficult for a lot of people(such as uber/lyft drivers) to navigate to, unfortunately. In turn, every other aspect of this business is outstandingly and refreshingly magnificent! I truly enjoy my time at this above and beyond location. Not just are the rooms amazingly well put together, you'll find the breakfast is actually good(and even hot!) and the staff are incredibly helpful, kind and welcoming. They even know how to properly do their jobs(which seems to be a rare quality to posses these days)!! I highly recommend this place to all!!

GGuest Userthe service was good the room was spotless no complaints they didn't have food due to covid but altogether it was still ok I asked service desk if they had paper plates I feel like if you guys are saving money on not serving breakfast buy paper plates so when we order rdd food if we for get them
