Yellowstone Lodge Basic motel accommodations in West Yellowstone. The overall experience was a mixed bag. On the positive side the hotel is in a very quiet area 5-6 blocks away from the hustle of the main tourist haunts of shops and restaurants and bars. The reception staff was friendly and helpful. The room was the usual size with two queen beds. Oddly there were two sinks- one in the room and one in the bathroom. This arrangement could make getting ready in the morning easier. They provided two luggage racks which is unusual in our experience and appreciated. The bed was comfortable and the climate unit on the wall was quiet and powerful. The shower head was a bit low for a 6 footer but water pressure was excellent. On the negative side it’s clear this is an aging building. The wall mounted hair dryer in the room was pretty feeble. There were no overhead lights so the room was a bit dim with the provided lamps. There were no USB ports and a limited number of plugs, one of which was loose in the wall and wouldn’t work consistently. There were stains on the carpeting in the halls (but not in our room). The tiles in the shower were chipped and the mirrors were losing their silvering around the edges. The light box over the sink was missing one of the lenses covering the light bulbs. The room was clean but smelled musty. Breakfast was the standard continental buffet with breads, prepackaged pastries, some cereals, hard boiled eggs, juices and coffee. They were supposed to have a selection of yoghurts but were out. They do have an indoor swimming pool. There is no business office to utilize a computer or printer. West Yellowstone is an expensive hotel market - if you want your basic needs covered and don’t mind the concerns we’ve mentioned then this hotel will suit you. If not be prepared to pay much more. This area is in a great location to access the park- the west gate is literally a few hundred yards away.
We stayed for one night at the Holiday Inn in West Yellowstone. We wanted a location close to Yellowstone so we could get an early start in the park. The room we got was a two bedroom suite with a king bed, queen bed, and living space. My one complaint was I wish it had a second bathroom though that was a minor issue. The beds were great and the entire hotel was clean. The decor around the hotel was fitting for the area giving it a unique feel. I enjoyed the stay and will consider staying here again on future trips to the area!
The first room that they put us in was tiny dirty, and had a huge water leak stain on the ceiling. The closet was a joke. It was maybe 6 inches deep and had an ironing board hanging in it. No room for clothes. The bathroom floor looked dirty, but I think it was stained. We requested another room and they moved us into a much bigger handicap accessible room. The lobby needs some serious cleaning and updating. The carpet needed to be stretched. Desperately it was a trip hazard. The free breakfast was not great as the waffle mix on the make your own waffle smelled rancid and tasted funny. We along with two other families reported it. The cream cheese also looked curdled. The best thing about this place was the lady at the reception desk. He was very nice and helpful.

We were expecting the rooms to be pretty basic, but they were much nicer than we expected. Modern, clean and comfortable, with a microwave, kettle and mini fridge. It is about a 20-25 min drive to West Yellowstone and the park entrance. But we realize that accommodation gets booked up quickly, so although it ends up being a lot of driving, we weren't complaining. There's a small store with basic food and stuff at the cabins, but if you want anything more, you need to buy it in town.
We stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel common areas were immaculate and someone was always cleaning. The rooms in the courtyard area were very big and had a lot of space for us to open 3 suitcases. The carpet should be pulled up and a floor should be laid down. This would help make the room look more modern and clean. There used to be a pool and a hot tub, but theybhave been replaced with a sitting area and outdoor fitness equipment. I appreciate the layout of this hotel as it gave me old school vibes (I've stayed in hotels with the courtyard layout in Hawaii and Key West). All in all it was a decent stay and the room served its purpose. The breakfast was outstanding it was a hot breakfast buffet served by very quick-moving and efficient ladies. The weird thing was that you only get two breakfasts included with your room. We were a family of four so I had to pay $10 per person for the other two meals. There are a few other things that would improve the rating of this hotel they don't provide a soap dish for your soap, there is no place to fill up your water bottles with cold water (my daughter was told to use the faucet in our room), they do not provide any conditioner for your hair, there was no refrigerator or microwave in the room (we literally filled up the garbage pail with ice to submerge our drinks), the workers are not very friendly and most don't speak English, there are signs all over the place telling you what NOT to do (don't fill up your coolers with ice, don't touch the coffee machine). I understand that certain things need to be communicated but the tone of the notes could have been more kind. This was a decent hotel and the price was very fair considering that most hotels in the area all seemed to be the same motel style. If you stay here l, just be sure to bring conditioner and ask for a room withba fridge.
I wrote a few hundred words when adding pictures. I have rewritten this hotel. The hotel should be a family hotel but the scale is well designed. The unique and exotic room is basically the same. The independent wooden house design is suitable for family travel. Can cook rice bowls and pans all but there is a problem when staying. Our 2 families have 2 rooms marked with twin beds but the hotel tells us that it is a suite with 3 beds. I said that adolescent children 1 male and 1 female are inconvenient but The hotel is telling the room is like this. Thank you, Ctrip overseas customer service has not shirked responsibility. I have been actively contacting and finally told me that because I only showed a passport, the hotel mistakenly thought that we needed 4 beds in the room. They didn't, but I was very surprised on the order. Written 2 names 2 rooms and we have repeatedly indicated that we need to be independent 2 room hotels will not understand? Anyway, thank you for the service of Ctrip. I have been using it for so many years. Ctrip is better than other travel sites. Recommend Ctrip to continue to support another: the advantage of the hotel is the design of the large room Reasonable Shape is unique Parking is convenient. There is free hot coffee hot chocolate at the front desk. After 12 o'clock, the front desk is off work. The disadvantage is that it is not regular. The sheets are suspected of not changing. There are hairs. The guests who are more serious are careful to send a sunset view of Yellowstone.
Ctrip wrote that there is no free breakfast but a free breakfast at the nearby gray wolf hotel. The two-bedroom cottage is very spacious. There is a fire at the door and there is a free marshmallow to roast. Checkin's place is not very easy to find, actually in the Yellowstone park hotel.
Grey Wolf Inn is a terrific place with helpful, accommodating staff. It is in an excellent location within walking distance of numerous shops and restaurants in West Yellowstone. We found our room to be clean and the inn well maintained. The breakfast bar is excellent with abundant selections of foods to choose from, and they provide smores kits for use with their fire pit during the evening. This was the perfect place to come back to after full days in Yellowstone. Also, the Grizzly and Wolf exhibit across the street from the inn is not to be missed.
Near the west gate of Yellowstone Park, in the town of West Yellowstone, the hotel has large rooms, large beds, and is clean and tidy. The breakfast is OK, with freshly made American muffins, fried eggs, coffee, etc., which are definitely filling. There are also some restaurants around the hotel, such as McDonald's and Chinese restaurants. As a hotel in a tourist area, it is clean and tidy, and comes with breakfast. The price-performance ratio is still good, recommended 👍
