This place is so special. The hotel, the grounds, the restaurants. The staff is so kind and accommodating. Had a wonderful dinner last night and our sommelier Erik was wonderful. He took such good care of us. Love it here wish we could stay longer.

From the moment we arrived we could not fault anything in our visit. The rooms were pricey but we were here for a special occasion and enjoyed every minute. The staff from housekeeping to reception were all lovely and available to help at anytime. The doormen were constantly on the move but always stopped to check everything was ok. The cleanliness of every bedroom, restaurants, bar, etc was top notch which staff constantly going around checking in this. The food was delicious, with local/Irish sourced ingredients. I particular enjoyed the breakfast with a wide variety of choice. My personal favourite was the French toast. The bar also had a nice food menu which was just as delicious even though it wasn’t the main restaurant. The gym was good and had just what I needed to continue with my routine and the swimming pool was well maintained and included in our stay. A wonderful experience.

First, from the moment that we arrived, the staff could not have been more gracious and accommodating. The rooms, gardens, and dining experience were five star. Highly recommend the golf, carriage ride, cocktail bar, and history tour by Dr. Jane O’Brien. The experience was every bit worth the cost. Take the time to wander through the castle and grounds, and enjoy the splendor of Dromoland.

We toured Ireland for one week and started at the Ashford Castle property and very happy that we did. Dromoland was our second stop and both properties couldn't be more different even though they are both castle hotels. Like Ashford, the grounds are spectacular with pristine 18-hole golf course, small lake, walking trails and activities galore. We checked into a spectacular suite on the third floor with lake views, windows galore and relaxing furniture. Amenities were just OK as they included an aromatherapy kit, chocolate bar and sherry. What makes Dromoland stand out is their food especially at the Fig Tree restaurant. About a five minute walk from the castle is their spectacular golf pro shop, fitness center, full size pool, locker rooms and the Fig Tree. The Fig Tree is like a country club restaurant with a full menu including traditional Irish items like fish & chips (excellent), organic salmon and meats. However, it also features homemade pizza which is delicious. Excellent wine and spirit list and very reasonably priced. There is a formal restaurant that offers a 9-course tasting menu but that wasn't for us. It was where breakfast was served and was very good. On site activities include falconry, clay shooting, paddle boating, horse carriage rides and walking tours. The horse carriage ride lasts an hour and you get a history of the property and was well worth the $200 cost. Overall, it's a property you will fall in love with. Most everything is less than a five minute walk and the walled gardens are very special. Real wood-burning fireplaces abound, beautiful old-style Irish bar that serves up house-made cocktails and excellent service.

What a beautiful experience. We stayed at the Castle for one night with our friends. The rooms are beautiful and the beds are unbelievably comfortable, luxurious. The bathrooms are spacious and renovated. This was the first shower we experienced out of all the hotels we stayed at in Ireland that was spacious and had wonderful hot water pressure. The bathroom also had a bathtub, if you wanted to really relax. The grounds are stunning. The Queens garden is breathtaking. So much to see and touch and smell. It was so quiet. The Castle has a golf course and they give you a map of the grounds so you can explore independently and not worry about getting lost. We had dinner in the Castle - Earl of Thomond Restaurant. The staff were so attentive and we had a lot of great conversations with them. The food is to die for. Elegantly presented with a fun "reveal" by the staff. We never felt pressured to hurry up and finish our meal. They were always attentive to our needs. I ended up getting a sliver from one of their chairs and slipped away to the room to remove it. The staff were mortified that that had happened to me and were openly apologetic for us. They returned numerous times to make sure I was okay. It was so sweet. They changed the chair for me and took back my appetizer and made sure a fresh and hot one was waiting for me when I returned. After we were done dinner, the staff secured seats in an adjacent room so we could have a night cap and listen to a live musician singing traditional Irish songs. They had two wood burning fireplaces alive and cracking with their own music. I will never forget our stay. The environment lends itself to full relaxation. I think that was the best sleep I've ever had in a bed, other than my own. We slept with the window open for fresh air. It was so quiet and the fresh air was delightful. Breakfast was served in the same room as dinner. The staff continued to be fully attentive to all the patrons. The food was wonderful. Many choices to choose from. We enjoyed the castle so much. We wish we could have stayed another day, just to really enjoy all that it had to offer including the spa and a history lesson walk around in the castle and on the grounds. If you really want a once in a life time experience, you will never forget your stay here at Dromoland Castle Hotel.

We just returned from Ireland and staying at Dromoland was one of the best experiences of my life! We received some lovely welcome gifts and the warmest “family-like” welcome from the gentlemen at the door. The hotel and grounds were dreamy and beautiful. I had a wonderful massage and my husband had a fun round of golf. Two days wasn’t enough, but it was perfection all the way around and a great place to end our trip on the west coast. Our room was spacious. The bathroom was lovely. The staff and service were amazing, food was delicious and evening musical entertainment was enjoyable. We will definitely return so we can take advantage of all the fun activities offered. Thank you!

Superb experience in a classic castle atmosphere with modern conveniences. Room was great, service excellent and extensive grounds even if not a golfer. There are several choices for food but the Earl of Thormod is exceptional. Breakfast was also extensive and very good.

Wow! A magical experience starts the moment you drive through the gates. The property is stunning. You will be greeted by Michael, who will take you from car to reception and to the room. What a kind and knowledgeable man. The property evokes an old world experience with the luxury of modern day. We stayed in the oldest part of the castle and it had a wonderful feel and luxury. We enjoyed a door to a small courtyard to enjoy coffee. I’m not usually a fan of hotel restaurants. This is an exception. It is beautiful and the food is outstanding. Service like anywhere on property is fantastic. Oscar is a hidden gem in the restaurant. Ricardo was very helpful in choosing 1 of the 93 whiskey choices. Make sure to visit the staff at the bar. Eugene and Marta are fun and welcoming. Frank will sing for you and that adds to the magic of the property. We haven’t checked out yet. I felt this review could not wait
