Hotel was lovely, room was very spacious and bathroom was newly refurbished, although the bath was a bit too high, making getting out of the shower a little awkward. Food, I didn't think was too good. While breakfast came on a large plate, and there was plenty to eat, if only it could be eaten. Bacon and sausage seemed like they had been cooked ages ago, and were tough and cold (having said that - I like my food piping hot). Entertainment was excellent - something for everyone. I would definitely go back. Lovely helpful staff too. Yes, we had a great time

Day out in Ballyvaughan staying in Hyland Hotel. Couple in 60’s Hotel was lovely. A bit aged but that’s fine. Breakfast very poor… cold and eggs raw. Didn’t eat much if it.

Our road trip around the West coast of Ireland was a great experience, we stayed in many different places ( 8 altogether ) and all of them were brilliant…… apart from this one. It was unwelcoming, very shabby and not at all what we expected. The room was reasonably clean but oh so tatty, curtains hanging off, lights not working, bathroom in desperate need of some tlc, food was just about mediocre and half the place was closed too. It just lacked any care. Thankfully only stayed one night. Check out was indifferent and a direct contrast to everywhere else we stayed. There was none of the warm Irish banter we had got used to. Can’t recommend it but ok if you really just need a place to stay in between better places. Disappointed.

Great little hotel in the burren, fantastic live music both nights we were staying. Such a shame the rest of this quaint village has gone we used to frequent but sadly now not much point, little to nothing open. Another rural village decimated by poor government policy on house migrants

There wasn't anything we disliked about the Hylands Burren. Our room was pretty basic with what appeared to be deliberately older decor to create an ambiance of times past-- but comfortable still. My wife enjoyed watching the horses in the pasture across from our room window. We ate at the on-site restaurant three times, once each for sit-down dinner (very good), dessert (also very good), and the breakfast buffet (just OK). The room rate was surprisingly pricier than the other hotels we stayed at during this trip.

Great visit to an incredibly warm Irish welcome in a truly unique location. Visited with family for a weekend getaway. From the moment we checked in with Zoe at reception and throughout our stay the welcome was genuine and warm. Rooms are very comfortable, breakfast hearty and the evening trad sessions in the bar are not to be missed, but what makes Hylands unique is the location. The Burren can be seen from the front door of the hotel. The local harbour is a short stroll and we actually spotted dolphins a short distance out. Defo a huge summer location, but we found even out of season a great place to visit and we will be back.

Just back from a great stay at this hotel. Lovely staff especially Aaron and Keeley. Great music on both nights too. Lovely walks and views nearby. You can drive 5/10 mins with fabulous scenery and a beach too. Food was nice especially the fish.
