Upon arrival and seeing that our guesthouse was right as you entered the town I was a tad hesitant if the pictures would match the location but, I was pleasantly surprised. A group of 3 of us had a very comfortable stay. A real gem hidden within a stones throw of everything you would need whilst in Clarens.

Very well equipped rooms. Fresh milk in the fridge. Drinking water supplied when you arrive. Lovely and spacious. Only 700mtr walk to town. Secure parking. Great breakfast. Lovely host. Easy self check in and check out, with full instructions supplied. Highly recommend staying in this guesthouse.

Great location, short walk from the main square. The room was huge and beautifully decorated. Everything you could need was there with thoughtful touches like milk for tea, salt and pepper if you were eating in and some cookies. Breakfast was well organised and had good choices. What sets this place apart is the lovely host who is great at communicating and really makes an effort to ensure a comfortable stay.

By The Way guest house is a wonderful place to stay. Before we arrived Dylan - the host - had already sent us all the information we needed to make our stay comfortable and pleasant. The location itself is great, it's close enough to walk to the village but far enough away that you aren't disturbed by the noise. It's also two minutes away from Clarens Xtreme where you can do a lot of exciting activities. We chose the bed and breakfast option, which included a friendly service every morning from both Sam and Dylan and delicious food. Our stay was both fun and relaxing and I recommend this guest house to anyone visiting Clarens.

This guesthouse offers 'self book-in" which is a great concept and worked really well for us. The host, Lauren was an especially lovely lady who went out of her way to assist us with every query - an exceptional host! The rooms were really spacious and lovely. The kitchen was very well equipped, lounge and bedroom furnishings were good and comfortable and the water pressure in the bathroom was excellent. The breakfast were good for all of us - one of us being a vegetarian. There was absolutely nothing that we were short of and we really enjoyed our time at By The Way and will certainly return there and recommend it to all our friends and family - a real 'value for money' venue.

The photos do not do this incredibly beautiful room justice. Yes it is on the main road, but with the door and windows closed, you would never know. Shutters on the windows to keep the cold out, electric blankets to heat the bed - just perfect. Perfectly situated as it is close to all amenities, restaurants and gift shops. Clarens is a must do on your bucket list and By the Way Guesthouse was the ideal place to explore Clarens from. The breakfast was the perfect start to a long day of exploring the beautiful town.
