Hotels Near McGregor Park & Cumberland Riverwalk in Clarksville

For a Hampton Inn it is exactly as it should be. It’s an older hotel with some updates. Room was clean. You shower in a bathtub which can be tricky for some people. At our age we’d rather have a walk in shower. There was an extra blanket available. Room fridge was a bit larger than most square hotel refrigerators. No freezer compartment but our water bottle did actually freeze so it was plenty cold! Breakfast was typical for Hampton Inn. Syrup containers for the waffles were in plastic tubes- like Go-gurts come in. They were a bit tricky to open- can’t imagine a kid being able to open these! We checked in on New Years Eve but the hotel was very quiet. No cookies in the trays but maybe the New Years Eve staff didn’t feel the need to make them. We are traveling south and would absolutely stay again on our way back north if the price was reasonable.

The professionalism of the staff was amazing. I made a mistake, which I acknowledged, yet they still insisted on making it up to me. The room was great, as was the food. Very glad we chose to stay here.

The deskclerk on check in was wonderful, the night one was horrible, rude, and straight out needs to be removed! We traveled all day, I am handicapped and was hurting so went done to lobby to find snack so could take pain pill. Breakfast was added to our room fee so took banana and received lecture made to show card and room number and advised I couldn’t come back in hour when opened breakfast as she wasn’t going to refill the food since I couldn’t wait even though I already explained issue to her. I don’t know how hard it is to replace 1 banana. She continued her tyrant as I waited for elevator and almost wished I would have skipped the banana and threw up all over her lobby instead! This was so uncalled for especially when price of room was over 150.00. Being ill didn’t shower or use anything but toilet and one damn banana! While packing checked under bed and beside night stand for items I may have dropped and found gobs of food, pizza, & popcorn! Also boxes and other trash (not small items either which really causes me to question how cleaning is done!) The facility appeared well kept and clean but was later obvious that was just superficial. Bed was not horrible but not comfortable either. Shower faucets dripped all night DRIP DRIP DRIP otherwise quiet and comfortable. Also important to note the breakfast I was charged for and denied other than a banana was pre-made heat and go gas station type stuff therefore clearly easy to see why she was so stressed about replacing one banana! We have stayed here before when traveling cross country and had a pleasant experience. Once again, we were traveling the same route and thought we would stay here. The female evening front desk associate was very friendly and welcoming. She was efficient about getting us checked in, thanked me for my rewards membership, and we got settled in our room. The mattresses were nice, the room was clean overall, and we rested well. Only two bath towels were in the bathroom for a room with two beds. The bar of hand soap was also unwrapped on the bathroom counter top. Checkout is at 11 AM, and as we had driven 600 miles the day before and arrived late, I put the do not disturb magnet on the door so we would not be awoken by housekeeping at 8:30. At 10:30, a housekeeper banged on the door. We were up, I answered it and let her know we'd be checking out. At 10:45, a different housekeeper banged on the door and asked if we were checking out. We are packing to get out the door, and at 11:00, the front desk called and asked if we were checking out because it was 11 AM! Oh my goodness.....I said yes, we were getting loaded (zipping up suitcases) and I was coming to get a cart so we could leave. Wow. We own several hotels as a side business, and one of them is an IHG property. Let me assure you that this does not happen at our properties where a guest is hounded, and this is on a Wednesday morning when there is no way they are sold out that night. There was only one housekeeping cart on the floor when we left. In addition, when I was in the elevator, one of the same housekeepers got on the elevator with me, glanced at me, and continued to study her phone without talking to me or acknowledging me. She was also not in uniform, and walked off the elevator without saying a word. So, service makes a 5 star review. Five stars for the check-in service, and the rating is lowered due to our morning experience.

We chose HIE because we appreciate the amenities there; comfortable beds, clean bathrooms plus a good breakfast. The week night suppers provided by this hotel were an added bonus. The facility was close enough to Land between the Lakes for a day trip to explore that area. Sadly, the hotel was having trouble with their pool maintenance but they were able to make arrangements with another hotel next to them to allow pool access.

Needed to stay the night after dropping off my soldier to fort Campbell. There were affordable rooms available and I slept quite well in the clean, relatively quiet room. There was no ice for water but there is a convenient store next door to get everything. The door also needed help to secure it properly.
