This place is to be avoided! We only ended up here because Hamilton was "full". After we checked in it was quickly obvious it was a horror show. Everything seems to broken or neglected. It's as if they have never heard of "maintenance". What took the prize for us was the hole in the bathroom wall which had tissues stuffed in it! They didn't stuff tissues into the hole in the bedroom wall though. Obviously hopeless management. it's grubby and neglected. Avoid it if you can.

We booked into the Brooklyn Motor Lodge for a Two night weekend stay confirming on the day and said yes we have it all booked . On arrival after our long drive she couldn’t find our booking and said she was booked out, so has booked us into there other Motel , we weren’t happy as it was her mistake and we wanted to stay at this Motel. So we then drive all the way to there other Motel “Aspen Manor” we found out through the guy managing it that the other women had over booked our room and told him we were happy to be in the Manor motel this was before we even arrived she lied . We had a look at one of the rooms at the Aspen Manor it was disgusting the worst place I have ever seen , go look at all the reviews of this place so we left tried for a couple of hours to find somewhere else to stay in Hamilton but was all booked out so finally found one in Cambridge.

Dark & Dingy and quite expensive To be honest I haven't been to a motor lodge quite so run down and dirty in a very long time. The unit needed a damn good clean, maintenance needs to tended to immediately. We had 1 x face cloth and 1 x hand towel for 3 of us and they were a washed out blue colour and the hand towel was frayed - needs to be thrown away actually. They provided no glassware at all and we had to drink water out of a tea cup. The pillowcases were stained and didn't match the sheets. There were insects - possibly cockroaches. Hand towel rail was detached and sitting under the vanity. No sky remote - although they advertised that they have Sky The couch was marked and stained and needed to be removed and burned. Net curtains were ripped & mouldy They obviously rent rooms by the week or have emergency housing rented space - they need to inform people that this is happening before they spend $270 a night. The current environment is not a safe environment. If I had read Trip advisor and read the numerous reviews about their lodge we would never have stayed. I think if the health depar**ent were to visit they would be appalled at the cleanliness of the lodge - it is disgusting.

I stayed here a few weeks ago, i do quite a bit of travel for work and have stayed in some sub par places in nz and overseas but this is hands down THE WORST place i have ever stayed anywhere in the world! The place is falling to bits broken door handles the rooms stink of feet after the beds made there are dodgy residents living in some of the rooms and its $200 per night. If i had to put a price on what i think would be reasonable i would say $45 max per night. Dont fall victim to this place

We have recently stayed in this motel and would rate this stay as very disappointing indeed. It was listed on their website as a brand new motel! That was in 2013! As I have since found out. The price we paid is completely over the top for the disgusting state these two units were in. I list below the items in question from our Unit 15. 1 Lamp in bedroom is not working, the overall lighting is very poor. 2 No soap in the bathroom so we could wash out hands. We had to ask the cleaner for a small soap! The dispenser that had been on the wall had been torn off. 3 No handrail for our towels to hang on (it was lying broken on the floor. 4 No pillow cases for the spare pillows (if you could call them that!) I had to ask the cleaner for some. The pillows are very flat and need replacing. 5 Dirty drawers in the kitchen. 6 Heater in the bathroom – not working! 7 Met curtains are disgusting. 8 The sofa very uncomfortable. My sister and her partner were staying in the unit across from us- #6 I think. We had asked for a sofa bed in the kitchen area, she had to go and ask for some sheets etc so she could make it up! My husband had an eye operation and I brought him back to the motel in the afternoon, but he was not able to sleep with people thumping up and down the stairs all afternoon. We suspect the motel is being used for the homeless, what a great way to get extra income and run the place down!! Steer well clear of this motel, I wrote to them but have had no reply!

This motel is overpriced, underserviced, noisy, and unwelcoming. One could've forgiven for thinking that the owners care less about their guests than the revenue gleaned from unsuspecting travellers condemned to spend a night in one of their unloved, inadequate "dog kennels". Never again. Avoid!

Dirty, cockroaches, stale cigarette smell, a drawer full of someone's tshirts and a baby bib, a lot of items missing from the cupboards, sticky kitchen floor, yuk yuk yuk would never recommend it. ****s all around outside. Spilt soap powder on stairs, no code for wifi and when we did get it it was an intermittent service. Not recommended at all

2 bedroom unit for husband and me plus 2 adult kids. The unit was run down: broken Venetian blind in the kitchen, laminated note with the wifi password was tatty, no bedside lights, bedspread was threadbare, luggage rack was broken and didn’t balance on 3 feet with a bag on it, cobwebs outside windows, litter in carpark, broken (and grubby) outdoor chairs, dirty light fittings, only 3 dining chairs for 4 people, rusty (?dirty) fridge door, no plug for the kitchen sink (asked for one but it never came), filthy torn net curtains, no pillow slips on spare pillows, no rail in the wardrobe, bathroom heater broken, but the location was great. I’d chosen to ignore bad reviews and give them a chance, to our detriment. Was quite expensive, poor value. Bed looked saggy but was actually quite comfortable and we slept well.
