We stayed at the end of March, 2024. The resort was a little dated, but nice. We loved the view of Lake Monroe. The pool was great. And, if you go before April 1st, you're able to fish off of the dock which was quite fun. In three days we caught about 50 crappie (all pretty small) from the docks. Boat rentals were not available until April 1st, so we missed out on that, but we still had a great stay. There are two very nice golf courses near by. Eagle Pointe is about a four minute drive and Stone Crest is around 8-10 minutes. Our family played at Stone Crest because it was considerably cheaper. It was a nice course. We did have a few issues with the Inn itself. The breakfast was pathetic. Maybe it was because we were there in the offseason, but the only thing available was Cheerios, Corn Flakes, bagels, muffins and on one day, instant oa**eal (they didn't have any the next two days we were there). Another issue we didn't particularly like is that one of our beds was completely off its frame. We had to take the box spring and mattress off and fix the frame ourselves. Another issue is that we were staying Thurs-Sun and we were given one roll of toilet paper for a double room. We asked at the front desk for more and was given a partial roll. We asked two more times before we were actually given such a basic necessity. The final thing was that there are signs posted that if you need a late checkout, to advise the staff ahead of time. We were leaving on Easter Sunday and planned on going to church first and then paying for the Easter brunch at the Inn. When I asked for a late checkout I was told that I had to ask the day of checkout. So on the day of checkout I asked and was simply told no, they don't do that. The Inn was not even 1/8 full, but they were unwilling to accommodate us to be able to pay them to eat at their establishment. Overall, we really enjoyed the stay and the area.
