After staying here for a conference a few years, ago we retuned with the family. The location is great. We decided not to rent a car. This was partially due to their pay to park policy, and partly because we felt we did not need one. The Uber was about $50. Since I had been a few years ago, the hotel had been painted and the rooms upgraded. We were only here for 3 days and only used the beach. I agree that the umbrella and chair rentals are a bit steep, but they do not have a resort fee, so that almost cancels out. The beach / water is a bit of a walk, but not an issue for us. The only time we used the cart was walking back with a tray of frozen drinks from the pool bar. The pool was crowded, but we never sat there. We walked across the street every morning for breakfast at Dunks and walked to dinner at the Columbia and Backwater. We also took an Uber for $7 to Pier 60 one night for dinner and sunset. Overall, it was a very relaxing stay. We were on the beach for 6 hours each day so we got our moneys worth out of the chairs. We had 2 Queen beds and a view of the roofs, but you could still see the water. WE were able to book a great rate and we will hopefully be back.
