Booked hotel on Priceline. Knew it was a “budget” hotel and was not expecting to be dazzled. However, THIS PLACE BLEW MY MIND! The lady working the front desk was aggressively argumentative for no reason. I was asked to pay an additional $50 at check in and she began raising her voice about a “fee for wifi, lights, phone, normal hotel things”. I shrugged it off and said I was just thrown off as I had never been asked to pay additional fees upon arrival. I said I was looking for my debit card, my husband offered his. She told me I could leave and it had to be my card. I explained I was still looking in my purse. I paid the $50. I was already feeling shook up about how she was treating me during check in and happy to get the keys and go to our room. The room door was open. It didn’t shut, despite my husbands numerous tries. The light bulbs in the bedroom area were all burnt out. The bathroom lights worked. There was mold all over the bathroom tile, faucet and drain. But couldn’t possible be responsible for the overwhelming mold smell that was triggering my asthma. I tried to tell myself to ignore it and just stay. Even though I could feel it getting worse by the minute. And even if I “tuffed it out” the door still didn’t shut. We went back to the front desk. The front desk worker was pacing outside while smoking. She seemed like she was under the influence of something. I called Priceline while I waited for her return. She paced circles and smoked for the 7 minutes and 38 seconds I spoke to Priceline. Priceline said the hotel would have to remedy the situation. The don’t give refunds. The front desk worker returned. She didn’t believe the door didn’t shut. She refused to have someone look at it. She refused to give us a room that shut staring she only had king beds and we booked a double room. She couldn’t give a screwdriver to fix the screw blocking the door to shut. She told us if we didn’t like it we could leave. She would t give us a refund. We were left driving three hours at 9pm to sleep with relatives instead. Tried to report to the BBB, only to find that this hotel is not accredited.
