We are an elderly couple who have traveled a lot, with Hilton Diamond status, often staying in Hampton properties because of their predictable comfort and value. We rarely write reviews, but our stay at the Hampton Inn in Cleburne, Texas (planned for 3 nights but shortened to 2), was by far the most unpleasant hotel stay we’ve had anywhere. Lots of smallish things added up to a big negative…lack of washcloths (received after 2 requests), missing clock on nightstand (never received after requested), unstable wifi, empty shower gel container (not refilled after request, and even after housekeeping), dangerously wobbly desk chair (the only chair in a room that would potentially accommodate 4 people), sharp corners on the bed frames (bruises galore!), TV with no signal and no possibility of repair during our stay (we moved across the hall to a similar room). After our second night, we decided to forfeit our third night (paid with Hilton Honors points) and move closer to DFW. When we went to check out and load our car, we found 5 staff members hanging out around the front desk and 2 of their cars parked side by side in the covered part of the driveway at the front door. Did I mention it was pouring rain? When we commented on this inconvenience, the response was indifferent. No one apologized or moved a car. We loaded up in the rain, happy to put this Hampton Inn behind us.
