Mercure York Fairfield Manor Hotel

The reason we booked this hotel because of the convenience of parking, despite seeing some honest, unsatisfied reviews. I am disappointed after staying for 3 nights, I would not go there again. Disappointment: 1.the room really needs some work to do, such as sash window couldn't open after asking for help to shut it, the thermostat was off the wall and the tap needed turning for ever to get the water out. 2. No aircon or ventilation system in place. The window was important for fresh air which did not serve the purpose. 3. The reception was informed about these problems on arrival, she (the bleached hair local girl) was not bothered by. She asked us to turn the radiator off after she was informed the thermostat was off the wall. She was not bothered by the faulty facility and did not mention asking someone to have a look or fix. I had to give her a point that she said not to touch it. She is unlike the other staff who were clearly care and helpful. 4. Super small television 5. Dirty drink tray 6. Chipped mug Good points 1. Bar service was good, especially the evening staff. 2. Quiet at night time 3. Bed was nice, not hard and not soft. General impression: It was not good value for the money, £400 for 3 nights.

Everything was great! Good location and easy access to all local amenities and site seeing. Quiet hotel and set in nice grounds.

We went down for our 5th anniversary, we arrived and the outside building looked really nice. when we got to our room, the light in the toilet was leaking and it had flooded the bathroom, we changed rooms but the only room they had available was 2 single beds

It is expected to arrive at the hotel by car. It is really convenient to do park and ride in York. The hotel room was spacious and clean, and the most important is that it is pet friendly too, with an extra £15 per night for the pet.

We arrived Saturday afternoon having booked with booking. Com only to find there was a mistake with the booking confirmation DESHPAL was on reception & was very poite & helpful he couldn't do enough for us he managed to get us a fantastic family room which we were very grateful breakfast was excellent as well. all the staff were brilliant, I would highly recommend this hotel once again thank you Deshpal

Our rooms went ready check in (though strangely others were). Towels threadbare & smelly.
