Where to begin,… Let me preface my review by saying that my status with Marriott is Titanium Elite and I’m Hilton Diamond at the same time. I travel a lot with work. So I cash in a few points on my way down to Florida with the wife…. And the Westin ATL Airport fit in that schedule due to convenience. Now for the goodies. Cold water shower at 6:30 AM,.. and it wasn’t intentional. It was cold. The front desk clerk that I went to see (in person) had zero knowledge of the water situation but offered to send someone up to my room to check. Ha. Like I don’t know how to turn on the shower properly. Are you kidding me? I stayed calm. How about some urgency to contact “facilities right away” and then promise to call or text me with the status. No, just a “sorry about that. Very Poor service. Then over to the coffee where I had 1 regular coffee in the room and 2 Decafs (who does that?). One of the creamers was out of date by the way. Nice touch. And now for my pillow issue. I really don’t like to complain,… I rarely write hotel reviews,.. but seriously, the feather pillows were so impossible. At 2am, I combined 2 pillows into 1 pillowcase because the feather fluff was just gone. These things don’t last forever. But back to the water situation,… 1 hour after my front desk meeting, the water in the sink is getting warmer so I can shave,… not hot,… but promising. Where’s my contact from the desk? Nice. The door to the bathroom is as thin and “tinny” as a 1970s solid bedroom door. Obviously a cheap replacement when the original door had to be removed. Cheap wood doors like this are loud and also peel (like this one did) at the bottom due to the moisture and use. Are you getting a picture here of the situation? Have I mentioned that the shower dispensers for bath wash and conditioner were completely empty? 1 bar of soap in the room. Good thing the water was cold or that would have been a problem. My advice,…. keep moving down the road or up the road, whichever direction you are heading. The Marriott brand is better than this. Service and quality are suffering in many areas these days,..but at this Westin,… It’s just gone.
