The Station House Motel

Lovely little getaway in one of the house rooms. Appreciated the little kitchenette and the comfy bed, everything was clean and tidy. Despite everything being in one room, the space was spacious and everything you need was included. Good value for a solo traveler with family in the area.

we had a wonderful stay at the station house motel!! we are traveling in NZ without a car and found it very difficult to find our way to wharariki beach (one of the main reasons we traveled to collingwood). it was late and cloudy, and Sophie, the owner was kind enough to give us a ride to the beach (saying she would wait for us if she wouldn't have to take her son to soccer practice). we had a great visit at wharariki beach but i became worried because there were no people around to help us hitchhike back to collingwood. on our way back to the car park, rain started pouring and the sunset is near, no people around, and then we saw Sophie, she was waiting for us!! apparently the practice got canceled so she stayed, worried we won't find our way back to the motel. she was so thoughtful and generous, we had a great talk on our way back. I offered to pay for her time and gas for the car, but they refused, said we should spend it on food and grab somthing to eat (and so we did). we highly recommend on staying at the staion house motel. lovely people, lovely place.

The host was very welcoming when we arrived & showed us all we needed to know in order to settle in. We stayed in the Garden Cottage. The place was spotlessly clean, the bed comfortable & the heater most welcome at this time of year. It was great to be able to cook in the kitchen nook though we were worried about the hob having no extractor to remove moisture or cooking smells - it was a little too chilly to leave the door open. Two suggestions: a compost bucket for food scraps & a box of tissues would be useful. We would recomend this place & aim to return some day.

Sylvie was fantastic, heard my bike lobbing up so came straight out and moved a car so I had a flat area to park on, real milk provided as well, extremely attentive. large room, all mod cons, old fashioned so so tidy. Well enough impressed as I only spent 1 night here to stay here for 3 nights next year, as hopefully I will be back in NZ next summer to ride around some more

Awesome little cottage! Used to be the police station! We had a lovely room - very clean and tidy and had everything we needed - great bathroom, dining area and the bed was super comfortable. Host was very helpful as to places to go and how to get there. We loved our stay and will definitely visit again!

A very pleasant place to stay with helpful hosts who made great suggestions on which local attractions to visit. Great value and very clean with a great location and a beautiful garden. First time we have spent a night in a police station (approx. 120 years old)@
