Stayed the night between 10 and 11 February 2024. There were three of us and we took a double room with an extra bed. We had breakfast, a quick lunch at midday. I was hesitant in judging between three and four. Strong points of the hotel: very well located, very elegant, beautiful structure, excellent breakfast service, they were very kind and allowed us late check out. For all these reasons the hotel could be defined as very good or even excellent. What are the critical points? The first and most important is structural. They assigned me room number 9. There were three of us, I think there are larger rooms, the accommodation was quite uncomfortable. Very nice room, but definitely small for three. More important is another aspect. The Hotel is poorly structured: the entrance door to room 9 is from the Hotel bar. there is no corridor. Imagine sleeping in a room whose entrance is directly into the (crowded) bar of a hotel: very little privacy. The door opens, you're in your underwear, everyone looks at you. This is a structural problem. The Hotel is beautiful, elegant, very well furnished, but the architect who designed it perhaps forgot that it was a hotel, where customers would like privacy... This problem also exists for other rooms, the 8th had the same problem. Others seemed better positioned. So, when you book, check which room they intend to assign and make this aspect known. I believe there are better rooms, if the room is better located, then it is a very good hotel. One last point: the structure is very small, which has its advantages, it is less crowded (but with the problem reported above), but there are also defects, for example there is no swimming pool or outdoor area. Finally, a note on the internal restaurant service. Rigid and limited menu, rather expensive. we are in Colombo in the center, just wander around and you will find a lot of solutions..
