After a large power outage, I decided to stay a night at a hotel with my 3 little dogs. We checked in, got our keys, and felt relieved to have warmth. I was looking forward to climbing into bed and watching TV in comfort. Lo and behold, the TV isn't working. When I ask for help at the front desk they tell me, "yes, that TV is not working since the storm". No offer to move me. No offer to fix the situation. Nothing. I had a tough time staring at the walls. I couldn't sleep. Entertainment would've been nice but nope. No TV. My husband died 4 weeks ago today. I was dealing with a 46 hour power outage at home. When I checked out no one asked how my stay was or even said "thank you for staying with us". I was exhausted. Knowing I was going home to no power. This experience was lousy. To put a guest in a room KNOWING that the television wasn't working was bad business. Could I have complained after check in? I did. Could I have complained at check out? Sure I could. But I was exhausted and emotionally spent. My future hotel stays will not be at a Hilton. Hotels are all about comfort, warmth, working amenities....and a functioning TV. A total disappointment.
