Holiday Inn Express & Suites Colorado Springs Airport

We are on vacation. Everything was great until checkout morning the elevator went out and we were on the third floor. Our suit cases were large since we are on a 14 day vacation!

I chose this mostly for the location near the airport and my sister's home, but I was impressed by the very helpful staff, the well equipped gym, and the pool. The breakfast was better than usual. A good stay!

The good: the desk staff is very helpful and friendly. The beds are comfortable. The rooms have a refrigerator and microwave. And the breakfast room has a pancake dispenser that is very entertaining. The bad: the rooms were dirty, in particular the bathrooms and the carpet, although the bed linens and towels were very clean. The air conditioning unit was incredibly loud. I had to turn it off to sleep. The hot water was never really hot in the shower, as others have noted, the woman the staffs the breakfast room, who is very nice, is also very loud and intrusive which is stressful early in the morning when you just want some coffee. The rooms have insufficient lighting.

Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Water pressure was terrible. There were black hairs in bathroom sink and on outside of bedding. There was a water bottle cap left on a shelf on check in. There was no mattress protector on the bed, there was a thin fabric layer between the top sheet and mattress but it was smaller than the bed size. Breakfast was okay but they had small flimsy styrofoam cups for coffee with no lids and I prefer coffee to go. Biggest complaint is there was a 3+ inch gap between the bottom of my door and the floor, a hand could fit under it easy and it allowed a lot of light in.

We liked everything about this hotel. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Beds were very comfortable. The room and other areas were clean. Complimentary breakfast was great, lots of choices. Wi-fi was great. We had one issue with the heating element going out on our heater. We notified the front desk staff and someone from maintenance was there to fix it within 30 minutes.

General housekeeping needs some serious attention! Room was clean but the common areas were bad!

Great customer service. Good water pressure in shower which is always a plus. didn’t like the pillows.

Friendly staff

The stay started off really good with a warm welcome and check in by I believe her name was Cassandra. She was great. I came down from Vail to spend an early Christmas with my son. Since we had dinner out and exchanged gifts I got back to hotel after 10pm so couldn't use jacuzzi which would have been a highlight for my stay, Cassandra said I could use it in the morning. I went down for breakfast and just wanted a quiet breakfast, the breakfast lady was loud and obnoxious! She was bored so kept talking to me really loudly, did I want this or that, I finally said under my breath no if I would have wanted that I would have taken that but I didnt and she didnt stop. She kept talking intrusively. As I left I saw the front desk guy left the desk unattended to get breakfast for himself. The breakfast lady didnt stop talking which was super annoying to say the least. I then went in to go to the jacuzzi and the maintenance man had drained the jacuzzi and said morning was the only time for him to work on it and I could not use it. This was devastating news because this was the only thing I wanted to do during my stay and looked so forward to it, so I was not happy at all that I was unable to finally use the only amenity that I was so looking forward to using. I would not recommend this hotel for the reasons listed above and would NEVER stay here again for the same reasons. I work in hospitality and have never been treated so rudely in my life by breakfast lady and maintenance man. Not impressed at all! Sad about this experience that could have been an amazing stay.
