Kinship Landing

Kinship landing was a great spot to stay at for our long weekend, hiking-centric getaway. The hotel is very modern and done well, in my opinion — the check-in area is connected with the hotel bar/eatery, but once you get used to the layout, it feels very comfy. The lobby area has the most inviting spaces to order small bites and casually gather; additionally, they offer daytime lockers for guests checking in/out so that you can store your items and get right to your outdoor exploring! The rooms are wonderful - they have a ton of space and it’s used well. The beds are incredibly comfortable (although low to the floor as an FYI for anyone who doesn’t do well with getting down lower). We had a king suite with a bathtub, and OH my GOODNESS, it was so lovely after a day of hiking to come back and soak in that tub, with the electric fireplace on! Be aware that the modern style of the hotel will have some different things, which we found refreshing. There is no dresser/drawer/closet space, although we aren’t “unpackers” on trips anyways so this was no bother! There is also no in-room phone (again, we never use that in standard hotels, so good riddance!). Finally, you don’t get a key or keycard to unlock the door; rather, the doors use keypads with a code you are provided at check-in. Totally fine, just differences to be aware of! Because the hotel is in downtown CS, if you’re wanting to go to Old Colorado City or Manitou, you will likely need bike (using the PikeRide bike system was a breeze!). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! With that said, a few notes to the hotel: upon arrival, the chromecast on the TV didn’t work for us. We had to reach out 3 times to get someone to at least respond and say they would let the IT guy know if he came in; however, by the time they called back, it was almost 9pm on our final night there, and we needed to get to bed early for our flight. The one amenity that we did find ourselves missing from traditional hotels chains was free coffee- while we recognize the cafe is open to the public, it would be nice if the drip coffee was free for guests. Sometimes in the morning, I just need to walk down and get that cup without having to have a paying interaction first. Also, we went down to get drinks at happy hour, but were charged full price for the drinks and we didn’t realize until we were already tapping the card to pay - wouldn’t want to make a fuss over a few bucks. But, the missed detail felt like a piece of a story of a space that seems to be a “plane flying while being built”. We loved our stay, but it seems that staff need better opportunities to train more fully and be aware of things like TV troubleshooting tips and how to charge drinks at happy hour prices, just to name a few observations.

A Very Beautiful Location, very courteous staff , and the room was exactly how it is in the hotel booking app. Very lovely, spacious , and classy.

Our room was fine, but poorly designed - the mattress installed on some wooden platform, a 10-inch step up from the floor for no good reason, and with insufficient room to walk the far side of it. Light switches and power sockets 3 feet or more above your head, instead of anywhere useful. Why? Silly decisions...

This was a unique and appealing property. We stayed one night. Parking was easy and the staff was terrific. The common areas of the hotel and the restaurant were beautiful. We had breakfast in the restaurant and the food was very good. We would not likely stay again, however, as the mattress and pillows were very soft and we did not have a great sleep. This is, however, a personal preference of course. Everything else about this property was very nice.

This place is cute and had many great features. Room was beautiful, but there were a few stains on some of our towels. When asked to get new towels it was not an issue at all.

Cool place, nice room. Had to pay for parking AND could only do so with a QR code. Also no gym.

The entire team was amazing and friendly. I wish I can give 10 stars because they have truly separated themselves from chain hotels.

The room had an amazing view of the mountains. The food from the restaurant downstairs was fantastic. The only thing that could have been better was that the bed was too soft for me.

Room had some left over items from the prior guests which made me feel like they didn’t their due diligence in cleaning the room. The room was cute though! The hotel had sort of a dorm room vibe because there was a “kitchen that housed a few iron and iron boards that you had to go get if you needed it. Other than that, the stay was fine.
