Tru by Hilton Columbia Greystone

My first is excellent until some culprit trigger the fire alarm 4:15 am in the morning on 4/15/24..

The hotel meets expectations, housekeeping is the what makes the hotel. They without fail always are polite, helpful, & don’t have preferences to who they cater to. They seem to all be on the same page as in what needs to be done. The front desk is very helpful, courteous, & friendly. The only bad part is the hotel is pet-friendly for the entire hotel. I would have been impressed or please if there was at least one floor for people that like me are not pet-friendly.

The TRU by Hilton it was an great choice. Sounds like a hotel for younger and cool people.

We stayed at the Hilton Tru Hotel one night while passing through Columbia, on our way to Wilmington, NC. About the only thing the hotel has going for it is a fairly good location. The rate we paid was about $150.00. This is rather cheap compared to many hotels in Columbia. Unfortunately what you get at the Tru resembles a college dorm. It is absolutely stripped down to the very basic decoration. The rooms are cold and bare of anything absolutely nonessential. For $10.00 or so more you can find other far more inviting hotels than the Tru.

My stay was for 4 nights. I had a king size bed, the room was small which wasn't a problem. The room was very simple, no microwave, coffee pot or closet. However there were 6 wall hooks and a bar above the small refrigerator with hangers. It was clean and comfortable, and decorated in a cheerful decor. The staff was very friendly. There was a free breakfast which was nice. The shower was large and bright with a glass enclosure. The shower floor was EXTREMELY slippery. There was a grab bar attached to the wall, but I felt I had to hang on for dear life so I wouldn't fall. The shampoo, body wash, and conditioner were in long squeezable tubes attached to the wall of the shower. Because I have severe arthritis in both hands it was very difficult for me to squeeze out the products with only one hand, I had to use both hands, making my fear of falling even worse. The water pressure in the shower was almost a trickle, making it challenging to rinse the shampoo out of my hair.
