Hotels Near Emerald Lake in Columbia-Shuswap A

The interior of the room needs a face-lift, ex. one of the nightstands is missing from my room. The make-up mirror is broken in the bathroom. The tidiness of the room needs a review if the cleaning team has a supervisor because it looks clean in general but if you give a closer look, you found hairs stick to the shower area, a bottle cap left in the corner of a night stand. The room smells moldy as we walked in. We should’ve inform the front desk at first but we had a late check in and was too beat up to make such effort. It was the hotel’s responsibility to make the room ready for their guests to begin with, isn’t it? Having said this, the location of the lodge makes our stay memorable and we would choose to come back and be more upfront with our concerns to the condition of the room. After all, staying right by the Emerald lake provides an unbeatable travel experience for a couple’s retreat.

The room was clean including the bathroom. Excellent front desk service both for check in and check out including breakfast buffet. The clerk provided clear information on Hwy 1 construction and opening times for traffic so detour via Radium Hot Springs was avoided. Very much appreciated. I would stay there again.

Just on the edge of the highway, this area is the transitional accommodation to Banff, there are many hotels of the same type. This one is relatively small and its facilities are relatively old, but it is cheaper. Two floors, no elevators, Canada is basically a wooden structure house, there is still noise when you move around. Check-in is fast, check-out is also very simple, as long as you return the front desk key. The nearby attraction is the pedestrian wooden bridge on the Kicking Horse River.

Found this Gem in a last-minute search for a place to stay in the mountains. We only stayed one night, unfortunately, but would definitely return if we find ourselves in the Rockies again. The room was clean and comfortable for 4 adults. Great views, Love the communal concept of the kitchen & fire pit. Great way to meet new people. Easy to find & not far from the amenities of the town of Golden. Not sure if this furry friend is a full time resident or not but, sure was friendly!

We stayed at the Palliser Lodge in room 212. Check-in was at the Glacier which they don't tell you ahead of time. The condo is a small one bedroom facing the hill. There is no view because the hill slopes up quickly behind the building. The room was big enough for my wife and I. Frying pans were disgusting. The rest of the condo was well stocked. The ski storage room was full so we had to store our skis in our vehicle. There is a small hot tub which is looking old. You want to have the jets running so you don't see the condition of the water. For some reason we were the only ones who used the hot tub all weekend. :) The cost per night was very high and not worth it considering the size, view and overall condition of the unit.

Winston Lodge is in the vicinity of Golden - some 12 klm or so away from the main town. It is a nice drive to get there from the town. We arrived and the lodge was open, but no-one was at reception (around 4pm). Room key was in an envelope with instructions as to where to find our room. We went in and the air conditioning was on and some nice music playing - we thought this is going to be great!. The room was large, bed large and bathroom very spacious. Room was a little dusty, and the TV a bit too small to see well if you wanted to watch a movie from the bed. The room had a small balcony with a nice outlook to the trees but there were so many mosquitos outside we couldn’t use it. We were there for 2 nights and the only time we saw any staff was when we were checking out. The lodge is described as self catering but I could not see any facilities other than a BBQ - there was one table with only 4 chairs - we were lucky that there were very few guests so we were able to use it one night to eat our takeaway meal from town - there were no restaurants nearby. I dont know if there were any facilities available for our use as there was no-one there to explain what was available for our use. The common area looked old and dusty - if you dont want guests please just say your are closed.
