I’ll start off with the positives. Room was spacious with adequate amenities. Pool is big with plenty of sun loungers for that time of year. Bed was comfy, but 2 singles pushed together of different heights Water pressure is good. Reception staff are helpful. Shop at reception is reasonably priced. Hotel lobby is clean and spacious. Location is good if you want to be near the top of the hill close to restaurants and bars. Taxis reasonable to get to the beach and bottom of the hill. Electric Fan in one bedroom was powerful, but no aircon in the apartments. The views down to the beach were lovely. Sunbeds and furniture on the balcony was comfy. The negatives Rooms were not clean, very dusty and felt grubby (kitchen area was clean though). Bathrooms need renovating, open pipe work, leaking shower, chipped tiles and damaged mirrors, floors very slippy Bedrooms need a good decorate, wooden frames rotting/damaged, covered in caulk or sealant that looked so grubby and dirty. No drawers/shelves to put smaller clothing items like underwear/shorts etc. does have a lot of hanging space in the wardrobe; but not enough hangers given there are no drawers. No bedside tables, ended up using the dining chairs as somewhere to put a drink/phone etc through the night. This isn’t the hotels fault, but could hear neighbours on both sides chatting in their balconies all night. Not a problem for us, but if you’re a light sleeper, could be an issue. We had an apartment on the same level as the reception, so this didn’t impact us, but others we travelled with had to manoeuvre a lot of steps to get to their rooms (with their luggage too). And only one lift working. Not for those with difficulty walking and even young children. The fan in our daughter’s room was a ceiling fan, and it just moved the warm air around, it didn’t actually cool the room. The pool is heated and felt like you were getting into a giant bathtub, it wasn’t refreshing and is very deep. There is a kids pool for the younger ones and of course a shallow end in the main pool, but midway I couldn’t stand up and I’m 5,7”. The drinks we bought at the bar were poor quality, it’s not branded drinks and the “lemon Fanta” was questionable. We had a few cockroaches end in our room, but suspect this was a result of the neighbours leaving food out on their balcony and guests leaving cat food out for the hotel cat. Only 1 of them was alive though, the other 3 had snuffed it by the time we got back to the room (assuming the hotel put something down to kill them). We lost water on one of the days. Reported it to reception and within the hour it was back on. All in all, the hotel was adequate for a cheap break, but would not return here due to the cleanliness and quality of the rooms, and also the temperature of the pool, it was sickly warm and IMO a breeding ground for bugs and germs. The beach is absolutely lovely though, so if you want a cheap hotel in a good location, then it suits that need.
