Even though on the outskirts of the small village of Carvalhal, Quinta da Comporta is a remarkably tranquil and peaceful resort on the edge of a rice plantation. Whilst set back a kilometre from the beach it had a very coastal feel. The accommodation is stunning. Our two floor Villa had Terrace and balconies front and rear with an outlook over a sand covered coastal landscaped area with grasses and olive trees. The glass pool is unique and all the amenities and fittings selected, maintaining the rural and uncommercialised atmosphere. The staff are all young, enthusiastic and helpful. A special ‘shout out’ to the pool guys and Valet parking guys who all went beyond the call of duty Comporta is a very interesting area but one fears for how it will be in 5-10 years. It is certainly a lot more expensive than average Portugal. The only small disappointment was the beach. Due to limited access points ( to preserve the dunes) it was quite urbanised around the beach accesses. I was expecting miles of empty golden sand. However the beaches did not seem better than Algarve beaches which also enjoy miles of golden sand.

Cet hôtel est tout simplement magnifique ! Vues grandioses sur les rizières, piscine fabuleuse, spa exceptionnel. Notre chambre était absolument parfaite. Le petit déjeuner est incroyable avec des produits de grande qualité, le personnel est aux petits soins. Chaque jour des activités sont proposées, Joao nous a accompagné pour une balade en vélo (électrique) inoubliable à travers les rizières jusqu'à une plage de rêve. La situation de l'hôtel est parfaite comme point de départ pour visiter la région (qui est magnifique). Si vraiment je devais trouver un point négatif, je dirais : malgré que nous étions hors vacances scolaires, il y avait des (jeunes) enfants partout (zone dédiée à la piscine mais pas vraiment respectée), jusqu'au spa (ça c'est vraiment dommage au vu de la splendeur de cet espace qui devrait être calme et reposant). Mais ça ne nous a pas empêchés d'être sous le charme de cet hôtel magique. Nous reviendrons certainement :)

We stayed for 4 nights at Quinta da Comporta in room 4B. The resort is beautifully located with rice fields visible from the restaurant terrace and includes a nice spa club. The room was very spacious and well designed, the bed extremely comfortable and the terrace very nice. The bathroom was large with private shower, private toilet, bath tube and 2 sinks. The toiletries were numerous. The mini bar was included in the price. Spa massages were quite good. The restaurant food was somehow improvised and not what we expected from a 5 star resort. The service was good. There is an outdoor swimming pool, even though there are quite a few children (ages between 0 - 11 years old).

We spent four nights in a deluxe room which was lovely, a huge bed, spacious, great bathroom and a relaxed patio area. The hotel outdoor pool is a key feature, a wonder to look at, and a joy to swim in heated by solar panels. The spa building is really gorgeous, wood panelled, quiet, relaxing, a good gym and stretch area upstairs. On the ground floor are the treatment rooms and two lovely pools where you can swim from inside to outside. The restaurant served an extensive breakfast which was good. The downside was the evening and day menu was limited and very expensive for the quality delivered. Staff service in the restaurant was patchy. Two things to note, children are allowed here, which may detract from the sense of well-being. The rooms are not the best for soundproofing. There are tv's mounted on the walls and if like us you have a selfish person next door watching TV loudly at night it will disturb you. We raised this with reception but it took them two days before they asked our neighbours to keep the noise level down! This was irritating.

We stayed at Quinta da Comporta for 2 nights. The complex is beautiful but the spa unfortunately leaves a lot to be desired. There were no towels, the steam bath didn't work and even though we asked if they could make a fire because it was cold, they said we didn't know how... A real shame in this price range. But the breakfast is very good and fresh. The cinema was also cool.

We had dinner at this beautiful resort yesterday and spontaneously decided to book two nights at the hotel. The food and staff were great and the dishes were all freshly prepared. There is a playground for children in front of the restaurant and you have a beautiful view of the rice fields. We are looking forward to staying at the hotel tonight.

A great place for a nice sunset. A bit overpriced (food) one thing that I completely disliked was the measurements for the glass of wine. The place it's amazing! Would come back just for drinks. The main entrance it's really nice and the parking lot 👌🏽

My review is just for the Wellness part. 5 stars for the location, the spririt, the architecture and the staff But in the swimming pool the water jet were out of order. The shower in the clockroom had just cold water. i hope for the guest that for the Summer period eveything will be fixed Massages are quite expensive compares to prices in France for example.
