Hotel Atacama Suites

Might have been language difficulties but check in not good. Payment was also a problem. After this the staff were helpful. We had a suite on the top (15th) floor which was well presented, big, nice sitting room and dining table and with a comfy clean bed. One small bottle of water instant coffe & tea bag on arrival. Nothing to follow. No fruit or drinks.. Suite? The breakfast was very good if you discount the cappucino which had loads of sugar - no choice. The pool was small with four sunbeds and was being decorated whilst the band practised at full volume at the other end. Not the expected experience.

Warm welcome and very helpful managers-even helped us make calls and translated for us. The servers in the dining room were friendly and helpful. The incredible chef was accommodating with our request. The fresh food was incredibly prepared! The room was very comfortable and the view from our window was impressive! Walking the property and enjoying the lovely fauna, garden and dock was so nice! The sitting areas, both inside and outdoors are very comfortable and welcoming. The pool and spa are lovely as well!!

Situation: I’ve checked in on 2/01 and payed on reception 100 usd in cash. The lady on reception didn’t give me a change (12 usd), as she didn’t have it. But she promised to give it back next day. No receipt was provided. Next morning (at my checkout) I’ve asked for my change. First of all, no one spoke English, than I asked the trip coordinator to explain and the lady on reception said that she doesn’t have any change and could not give me the change even in CLP. I had my flight in 2 hours and taxi arrived, so I left the hotel. No receipt was provided. No one even apologized. Conclusions: the hotel is absolutely SCAM. Full the tourists as a typical middle eastern scammers at the market place. Seems that they don’t pay taxes, as no receipt was provided. I wrote an email them - they just ignored it. Would not recommend to anyone.
