My wife and I have stayed here when in town for nearly 20 years. No more. We hadn't been back in about 4 years. I called the day before our arrival to request a quiet room on the 4th floor because my wife has insomnia. The clerk was very nice to indicated this was no problem. When we checked in I was told there were no rooms available on the 4th floor because the a/c wasn't working. We were given a room on the first floor and the a/c did not work. The maintenance person check the temperature with an instrument and it was 73.5 degrees. Also, the window as defective and so clouded over you could hardly see out. I requested another room and we were moved to the 2nd floor. The a/c did work but the curtains were tattered and the wooden arm on the chair had cigarette burns Ironically, I was walking to the elevator on the first floor and a woman with two handfuls of bags walked up behind me. I offered to help her with a bag, but she just asked that I push floor 4. I said I thought the a/c wasn't working on that floors. She said it works just fine. I learned the clerk that checked us in had lied to me and didn't just was we mad a mistake and did no hold a room for you. We tried breakfast once, but at 8:15am they were out of orange juice, non-fat milk and some muffins. The breakfasts haven't changed in 20 years, which says something about the Marriott decision makers. We've stayed at Marriott's a few times the past few years, including in Germany, and management isn't up to what it used to be. Marriott seems so focused on expansion that there's isn't much time left to consider the customer. Tim
