Hotels Near Archaeological Site of Maa - Palaeokastro in Coral Bay

I had read the reviews and decided to give this hotel the benefit of the doubt. On the plane I said to my friend that I was a bit worried having seen peoples comments. The first day we thought- Oh its not that bad but I'm sorry to say it was. Having paid £900 each for a weeks stay I came away feeling underwhelmed and disappointed and here is why CLEANING- Never have I stayed in a hotel where I have made our beds every single day, washed up our teacups and even cleaned the bath and sink. The cleaners did visit our room but all they did was empty the bins, give us more loo roll and towels. ROOM- dated, needs a full refurbishment, bed like a plank and pillows made from foam balls which were so uncomfortable. No spares in the room, we asked but did not receive any. BAR. The pool bar is manned by Jack and Mason and they were amazing and really made our holiday. FOOD- I've seen comments on the food but it was OK- I tend not to have breakfast but I tried it on the last day and to be honest it was the worst meal- there is something all the time for even the fussiest person. Make sure you meet Vanya she is the best, full of life. ENTERTAINMENT- Marios and Kamil were our animation team and they were very good, bingo and Yoga and other activities are on offer. The evening entertainment is however poor , apart from the fire show. POOL- Don't be fooled by the photo on the header is really does not relate to it. There we plenty of beds but there is the usual early reserving, pool towels are supplied via reception for a fee. The tiles around the pool are chipped and uneven and a trip hazard. The pool itself is very deep 3m in some areas and these are not well signed. It is not well maintained, there is a ladder that is just only attached by the poles at the top which is not safe. In the shallow end the steps have not got railings to hold on to and they are slippery, when you get off the step into the pool the tiles are really slippery, I slipped and several people nearly had accidents there- I was told of a man who slipped quite badly. So here was my real issue with the pool feeling a little unsafe I felt like I did not want to get in, so sat on the edge with my legs in the water. There is a lifeguard Akim, he spent all his time on the phone and finally when we saw a lady slip quite badly and he was not looking nor did he get up- I could not hold back, so went and told him to get off his phone. My friend also spoke to the manager Georges who told him not to bring his phone by the pool. Guess what..... when we left the pool that day, he was back on the phone and on it each day until we left and I have the photos time stamped to prove it. There is no way given the pool issues and the clear lack of care re guest safety that I would ever come back here. If you have a disability they have lifts but that is all. Not sure how you'd get in the pool or even want to. I don't think any amount of refurbishment can help this place unless the management change their atti

My wife and I have just completed our eighth holiday at the Vrachia Beach Hotel over a number of years. It is a splendid hotel catering for adults only. The suites are decorated to a high standard and are very comfortable and include a kitchen area and separate bathroom. The lighting is very attractive. There is a superb sea view overlooking coves and rocky sea and Coral Bay. The swimming pool has its own bar and food is available I. This area. All of the staff are very friendly and in particular Nimmi in the bar and restaurant in the evenings, Kirsty who supervises the restaurant for breakfast and the pool bar during the remainder of the day is excellent for her knowledge and for getting things done. The restaurant meals are very good and there are also a number of good restaurants in the immediate area. The Vrachia is an excellent small family run hotel and certainly worth a visit.

Just returned from a 10 night stay here with hubby and friends. Originally booked another hotel but after multiple bad reviews there we changed to here. So glad we did, the whole hotel, indoors and outdoors is spotless. ALL of the staff are a huge credit to the hotel, all very friendly, welcoming and hard working. The food is very good, unlike most all inc buffet styles, you can put together a lovely meal, not just 7 or 8 things on a plate because they look good ! You’re not overfaced and the choice of foods isn’t excessive, just everything done to a high standard, with a different theme every night, our fave was Italian night. Drinks are drinkable, if you’re all inc, you can have branded drinks for half the price stated on the bar list, which is very good . Entertainment laid back but enjoyable. It is a little remote but buses are every 15 mins from the top of the road, to both coral bay/ beach , Paphos old town and harbour in the opposite direction. It was clear during our stay that they have many returning guests which is a sign that it is a super hotel. The only tiny negative is that if you are all inc the staff have to keep asking for your room number and if you’re all inclusive even if they’ve already served you earlier that evening, this is rather than have a wrist band like most all inc hotels, it is literally a tiny snag . My hubby and I would definitely return again as we enjoyed everything about it, just a very relaxing break which we really needed in lovely surroundings and sunsets which are amazing. If you are able , do book a sea view as it is certainly worth it.

From a late evening arrival we were greeted by the general manager I think and he was lovely he walked us to our room number 718 took us into our room and showed us how the air con worked etc. He could not do enough for us. After unpacking we went for a couple of drinks in the bar and was greeted warmly by the very friendly staff. We went for breakfast the next morning and the food was lovely plenty of choice and very nicely prepared. There are plenty of seats around but be careful if you are non-smoker like us and sat one morning in the smoking area by mistake - most smokers were smoking and eating at the same time lol. We were just bed and breakfast as that was what we opted for which was adequate for our needs. Our room was cleaned daily with regular towel changes and bed linen changes. Our room was lovely 718 with lovely views across the sea. We had a fridge, safe and a kettle included but that was due to the upgrate we paid for on booking the holiday. On our first evening I lost my bangle and it was found by a bar waitress and handed in for me after I put a request on the hotel's Facebook page to see if anyone had handed one in - I did not expect to see it again so was totally shocked to get it back - THANK YOU. Went to Coral Bay several times which is where the bus 615 terminates it is the best beach ever. The Cynthiana has its own private beach with free sunbeds but you will have to get up at 4am to get a sunbed on the beach or on the jetty area. Plenty available around the pool. All in all I can honestly say I am so glad we chose this hotel it was so clean, friendly and definately worth the money and we so look forward to returning in 2025 hopefully to the same room 718. Fantastic! As travel staff in the UK. I have been lucky enough to travel extensively. I have stayed in some of the lost luxurious hotels of the world, but this has to top them. Service impeccable, food outstanding, facilities outstanding, rooms luxury and spacious. I have never returned to a hotel twice however, The Cap St George will be my exception and I will return. Jordan you are a credit to the hotel. Every day you interacted with guests. Made us all feel very special. Also Michalis hope I spelt her name right. Who always engaged with us . Thank you for a most amazing stay. We will return

The experience in this hostel was horrible. It was dirty, it is very unsafe since at night they are allowed to have parties with people drinking, both from the hostel and guests of the clients. They partied until 3 or 4 in the morning without letting people sleep, there was no one to complain during the night. Obviously, in the morning we got up and everything was full of the remains of the party, drinks, dirty glasses... We complained to the hostel management, which has made us dizzy to this day, since they told us that we were leaving to return the money for the two nights we spent there and we have not received any response or compensation from her. I don't recommend it at all.

Lovely 10 day stay, great restaurant choices, we particularly enjoyed the Mediterranean and Bacco. The staff at both were particularly attentive and so friendly with our boys (11m and 3yr). Great kids choices and nothing off limits for our baby, literally any combination of ingredients cooked however we liked and blended to any texture.. complimentary room service even if you didn’t want this at the restaurant. The kids club was the best we have experienced. Rachel runs the most professional and caring kids club and crèche. Heather, Rachel and Ramona were so great with our boys, it’s the first kids club our eldest has been happy to leave us, he spent the morning there everyday and one day even asked to go in the afternoon too! They have a soft play, did endless drawings, crowns, masks, cutting and sticking, and all the toys imaginable. The creche was also ideal, it has a limited capacity so was really calm, all the toys a little one could need and lovely cots for nap time. Everything is very hygienic, wiped down after the sessions use. The boys were just so happy to go everyday and it really did make a big difference to our holiday. We will definitely be going back for the kids club alone!

Beautiful hotel in a wonderful location. The staff were super friendly and hospitable. The pool was amazing. Self serve drinks were ideal. The cocktails included in the all inclusive were great. Some people had upgraded so they could have branded spirits and bottled beers. But the local stuff was absolutely fine. Be careful on the spirit measures. The standard in Cyprus is 45ml compared to a 25ml single measure in the UK. The snacks availability by the pool were delicious too. We didn't end up eating in the restaurant at lunch because the quality of food in the snack area by the pool was so good. We did eat at all the individual cuisine restaurants (Italian, Lebanese, Greek and Japanese) on site. Fabulous food. Again, the staff were very attentive. My partner has a nut allergy and they were very accommodating and reassuring. Would definitely go back.

Me and my parents came to Leonardo hotel for 7 days. We had the best all inclusive holiday ever. Food was excellent, different choice each night. Buffet was also great (salads, pizza, fruit and pasta) variety was good There are 3 restaurants in the hotel that you have to book in advance, Asian, Greek and Italian, we only managed to do Asian and Greek and this was an excellent experience, food was just amazing so do recommend booking Hotel is located very close to local supermarkets and if want to walk to the harbour its about 30 minutes along the beach. You can also take a bus that runs every 10/15 minutes for only 2€ (611 or 609) I took a taxi from and to the airport due to my arrival and departure times which was quite expensive 45€ but my parents took bus both ways that was only 2€ so I would recommend taking bus if you don’t mind the extra travel time Pool was clean and spacious, we stayed on the sunbeds each day and always found space no matter what time of the day. Staff… ❤️ well people that worked at this hotel made our holiday extra special! Especially Katerina, Nikky, Christalla and their manager Sabina, those girls love what they do and care for everyone during their holidays.
