I primarily stayed at this hotel to be close to the airport since I had a really early morning flight the day I left. I usually don't stay by the airport but thought this was the best in the area and overall it wasn't bad. It just had some things here and there that it lacked. Check in was great. Everyone who works a the hotel is really nice and welcoming so that's a big plus for me. When I got to my room, I found the floor I was on had kids running up and down the hall and people slamming doors which is very disruptive. I had to move my room and they thankfully did. It was better but I don't understand why people have to slam doors. It was a pretty full hotel and Friday night between people in the hallway and slamming doors, it woke me up. I'm very noise sensitive but even if I wasn't this would have been an issue. Part of me thinks people aren't even thinking about other people at the hotel and treat it like they're at home but also part of me thinks that the door is actually the problem. It was just not great. The room itself was fine and comfortable. It's a pretty typical Marriott room which to me has space and functions fine. Parking is in a lot and I like that. I can just get to my car and leave without being in a garage or valet. When the hotel is busy and it seems like parking is full, it's not. You just have to park further from the entrance. One other thing I didn't like was that the hotel didn't have a system where to operate the elevator you need your room key. Most hotels I stay at have this and was surprised this one did not. Not that the hotel didn't feel safe but it actually makes you feel a little safer. Food wise, I only had breakfast and it was not good. It's buffet style and for what they offer, it is not worth (I think) $22. It felt more like cafeteria food and if the Fairfield properties elevated their breakfast just a little. Now I do realize that they are remodeling the area from what it looked like and they had to do what they could to offer breakfast but to me it wasn't good and felt like a letdown. Plus, personally, I didnt' find it that healthy outside of the fruit and maybe the oatmeal but I'm sure the brand of oatmeal they use isn't healthy. Outside of this, I don't know how the rest of the food is. There are plenty of restaurants close by to the hotel if you've had a long day and don't feel like going into Pittsburgh. If you need to stay by the airport, I would recommend this hotel. It is full service which is what I do look for in hotels. Just be aware of the slamming doors.
