I have to be honest, I lived in Residence Inn’s for almost 2 years when I traveled full time for work, I didn’t expect much from this hotel. I was pleasantly surprised. Upon entering, the lobby smelled of cigarette smoke and was pretty dated, but there was visible attempts to modernize it. The hallway to my room also had the smell of an establishment that has seen a lifetime of smoking. Once in my room the smell was gone. It smelled faintly of an older motel room, which was to be expected. The room was spotless, even under the bed and nightstands, yes I looked. Even though there was damaged tile around the toilet with a bad repair job and caulking, it was clean. The walls and ceilings were recently painted, the art was modern, the furniture was clean and modern, even the air filter in the heat/ac unit was clean (looked there too). Best of all it was quiet, staff were friendly, my only interactions with them were check in and a wave as I went out for the day following my first night.
