Beautiful hotel in the Victorian Quarter of Cork City. Great location within walking distance to train station. Excellent food in a lovely restaurant and bar. A bit of noise from the pub scene on the street, but not terrible. Would absolutely recommend the Metropole Hotel!

Everything was good. Just the hand lotion dispenser didn’t work which means basic QA wasn’t carried out prior to check-in.

Visited for a gig in the Everyman Theatre. Great location next door! Friendly staff. Old fashioned vibe which we like. Would highly recommend.

The Metropole is a not-so-hidden gem! A glorious and stately building, this hotel is as enchanting inside as out! The staff are all welcoming, young, and eager to make your stay the best ever. My husband and I visited along with my elderly mother - the staff went out of their way to help her with an accessible, walk in shower room. When the laundry service let down the hotel, the staff kindly offered to provide the service and gallantly stepped in to help! And the food … OMG! High quality and all locally sourced. Lorraine, who works in the kitchen, gave us all sorts of recommendations for Cork and Kinsale - including a terrific fish restaurant called Fishy Fishy, which is a must. Parking at the hotel is a bit tricky, but cheap — adding a valet service would be a nice perk at some point. All in all 5 stars for the Metropole — and I’ll certainly book this place again and again! Thanks to the staff!

Right along the river in Cork, within walking distance of most things. We stayed here one night, which was more than enough for Cork. It is very close to the bus station if you want to head to Kinsale for a few hours, and near restaurants, coffee shops, and pubs. My only complaint is that they do not offer a free breakfast. Room was comfortable and clean.

Overall nice hotel. Didn't like that they said they wouldn't take cash to pay for the room. A few of group were inconvenienced.friendly staff. Great view to river side.
