Hotels Near Malbato Chapel Rd in Coron

So we checked in last October 2019 and was assisted by a front desk staff. As we saw our room, I saw that the bed I requested through Agoda which is a queen size bed was not available. They gave us 2 single beds Instead. I said if they can transfer us as we would want to sleep comfortably in a bigger bed. He was kind enough to transfer us to a different room on the second level, still with 2 single beds combined which was okay. Didn’t have any issues with that. I even apologized to the staff if I seemed rude. Now my problem is, on the following day, we when we came back from our tour, our keys were not working. Went all the way back to the front desk only to find out that the manager intentionally deactivated our cards. Why? Just to inform us of our check out and pick up time. It should have been a phone call right? Do you do this to all your guests and make them walk all the way from their rooms to the front desk or did she just want to see us personally because we complained at her staff the previous day? By the way, when she was talking to us, she didn’t seem accommodating and didn’t even apologize for the deactivated card. If you will tell us now that you do this to all your guests just to inform them of the checkout details then you shouldn’t. Just call them and let them have a hassle-free vacation.

I had stayed in Sunz en Coron a few years ago with friends and this year with my family. Both times have been an enjoyable stay which deserves more than a 5star rating! As a person who worked at customer service for more than 10years, theirs' is simply superb! My family have been gushing on our stay and experience that added to their fun and enjoyment of Palawan! Thank you Sunz en Coron for enhancing a truly memorable vacation for my family! We will surely come visit again and recommend you to friends who are planning to Visit Coron! Kudos to all your staff! The Bancuang is a sprawling mansion going up a hillside. It is really, really cool. We stayed in one of the (4?) penthouse suites. The room was super romantic; the views from our room were stunning; the restaurant was reasonably priced and the food was delicious; the staff was friendly. The wifi even worked most of the time (~80%). Nothing is perfect in Coron, though. The shower had drainage issues (probably because they don't warn people not to let sand go down the drain -- please rinse sand off at outdoor shower near pool). No room safe (although front desk has a giant safe you can use); no spare roll of TP in the room. Noisy wild roosters start crowing at 5am (but in the other hotel we stayed at, there were 50 church bells, right next door, at 6am -- we vastly prefer the roosters). But the biggest issue for us was SOAP. There was no handsoap by our sink in our room; to wash your hands, you had to physically step into the shower and use the body wash. We asked the front desk and they seemed to think this was fine and good. OK, fine, we can step into the shower, but this got me thinking -- do they wash their hands after using the toilet? So I checked both of the general restrooms in the hotel, and found that **one of them had no soap whatsoever** (and no empty dispenser -- nothing). This means staff are likely using that restroom and returning to work without washing their hands. And worse, this was the closest restroom to the kitchen. This is the sole reason for our 1/5 star ”cleanliness” rating; other than this, the hotel itself was very clean, just not the hands of the staff. But it seems common in Coron to not have soap in bathrooms; it seems that, culturally, it hasn't caught on, and they don't realize that this is very important to (some) tourists.

The assistance was excellent! Both the owner and the staff were incredibly accommodating. My room's air conditioning wasn't working, so they upgraded it and moved me to a different room without charging me extra. I adore that they provide free water, which lowers my costs ☺️☺️☺️. It is centrally located, close to a market, dining options, bars, and a loading port for excursions. The linens were immaculate and the room was tidy. The only minor drawback is that because it's in the midst of the town, passing tricycles and tourists might make it a little busy and noisy. Overall, though, I would heartily suggest Zuric Pension House and give it a 9.5 out of 10. 🏅

I really recommend the blue water, the room is clean with a very good level of comfort for the price, staff of a rare kindness and especially Shermin at the reception which has been a valuable help for all our stay.

Vienna Hotel Coron is one of the best hotels. As a solo traveller I enjoyed my vacation in Vienna. The staff was nice and approachable. The frontdesk gave me a free upgrade room with the best view and has a private balcony. I will recommend this to my friends in Manila.

This hotel is probably the top rated in town. It is not the best I have ever been but it is very confortable, I'm sure over 99% of the others in town. It is located next to the pier, what is very convenient if you're planing a trip to El Nido or an expedition (our case). The rooms are fantastic, same as the facilities, the pool is facing the sea and the sunset is the best time to be there. The staff is fantastic, so helpful and always smiling. The restaurant is probably their weakest point. Their food is nothing special, I can't highlight anything out of the menu. The food is fine, and just that. The price, in our opinion is too high for what it is. Probably x2 or x3 than the restaurants in town. In my experience is something they should take care about.

Excellent hotel. The location is great. There are a lot of corals near the hotel, on the opposite side of the bay there is a mangrove forest. You can use kayaks, masks and fins for snorkeling free of charge. The only negative is the cost of the transfer from the airport to the hotel.

Pros and cons. The island was great, we loved our stay at the cottage. But the service was not so good. Pros: - The island was great. Major plus points for the house reef and grass bed that attracts fish and sea turtles. There were birds and the monitor lizards on the island! - The view from our sunrise cottage was great. The rooms were clean and the toiletries complete. - Transport to and from the island went smoothly. - Massage was great! Cons: - We arrived at around 1pm (official check in time is 3pm). The staff told us they would call us when our room was ready. Many groups of arrivals were steadily being escorted to their rooms but not us. At 230pm I went back to the reception and was told our rooms had been ready earlier! But NO ONE let us know. At this point, they gave me the key card but no one made a move to escort us to our rooms and I had to ask if they could give us our luggage so we can go the room already before the receptionist accompanied us. - There is no comfortable place to wait or change clothes while waiting for your room. Basically people are sitting on the pool loungers in their pants/shoes from the airplane. - We signed up for the hike, we were told some one would text us to confirm time and meeting place, NO ONE called. - Basically, any time they tell you they'll call you, NO ONE did. I had to call multiple times and actually go the reception to get any response. - The restaurant was not full yet it was very hard to get the attention of any server. The food also took 30-40 minutes to serve. Kudos to the one lady server who served our lunch everyday for 3 days, she was the only one who helped us. - Used plates/utensils were left on the restaurant tables for a long time. We sat down as the neighboring party left and we were already done, their plates were still sitting on the table (being snacked on by the birds). This happened every meal (and we're slow eaters, at least 45 minutes). - Towels and plates/cups by the pool loungers also not cleared for hours. - Breakfast and dinner buffet were just okay. Nothing to write home about.
