Chatur Playa Real Resort

The place was over our expectations, and they have a excellent entertainment team. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the food was freshly prepared and very well balanced with different cuisine every day. We can't wait to book our next holiday at this resort.

Honestly don't know where to start with this review as I never write them but feel I really need too,firstly when we first got there we where in an annex room separate from main building room was big but very dated I'm one of these aslong as it's clean I'm fine . The food was same same most nights and snack bar was the same everyday drinks where ok pre mixed cocktails and beer and pop on tap but hotel did only have one bar unless u just wanted beer or pop then there was another one nr the annex rooms and kids pool . The staff where hit and miss couple of girls where pleasant but was only one bar lad cracked a smile .but the reason I'm writing this review is on my 1st night there I was cold when I went to bed ended up with towel over my bed next morning my partner found quilt in the top of the wardrobe so that night put it on my bed next morning woke up with rash just thinking it might be heat rash as the day went on more and more spots came out anyways 3 or 4 days later after not sleeping itching being embarrassed at the state of me I went to the chemist who told me they where bed bug bites as you can imagine I was mortified I'd slept with this quilt for 5 nights I was covered from head to foot with lumps with blisters,I went straight to reception they said we will check beds and get back to me anyways this was the night before we left they told me they couldn't see any and have changed bedding and we could change rooms this was teatime I said if it's all been checked we just stay there ill sleep on sofa that night I slept on sofa still itching being uncomfortable woke up next day to walk in the bedroom that was supposed to be checked and clean to see one just running around my bed by this time I was fuming took a video took it to reception and jet 2 rep who now believed what I was saying still didn't seem to bothered tho rep just gave me an email address to email jet2 I said room well the block needs fumigating I went back up to my room emailed who I had too with photos and the video then around 12 o'clock Bear in mind we where getting picked up to go home at 5 the rep called asking if I would like to do all my washing there and it would be free washer and drier I had already had a rubbish holiday and they wanted me to spend my last few hours washing and drying mine and my partners clothes we had been there 8 nights I'm a woman I had atleast 4 loads my partner wears designer not cheap tops that they wanted us to wash then put in there driers my partner told them to do our washing atleast 8 loads to wash everything coats the lot manager was like no u do them but even if we had we couldn't have dried them all in time so then our luggage would have been over the allowance we got home early hours yesterday morning and low and behold the suckers have also got a grip of my partner he's covered on his back and and ankles please if u are due to go ask if the annex rooms have been fumigated especially room f309 which was our room I have now emailed all t

My honest review in good and bad points, as we paid a lot of money for a weeks stay, and we were left quite unsatisfied sadly. So I think it's important you know what you're paying for. It's not that the hotel was bad as such, it just lacked in so many ways and should really be a 3 star. Especially when you compare this to all the neighbouring 4 star hotels. General good points: 1 - Food - lots of choice, the fried eggs in particular were the best I've had 2 - Staff were really friendly and helpful 3 - Cleanliness was okish in places 4 - Plenty of sunbeds 5 - Very quick to get served 6 - Pools were clean and I saw the pool man test the water for the middle tub and clean the water Bedroom feedback 1 - Very basic general aesthetic 2 - Room furniture was past its sell by date: sofa was dirty, the coffee table, side table, dressing table were all damaged and chipped (some were masked with poly filler). 3 - No mirror or chair for dressing table 4 - No tea or coffee in the room, just a kettle and cups sitting on top of an old fridge 5 - You had to pay for the safe in your room to use it - never had to do that in a 4 star 6 - No soft furnishings as pictured (orange cushions, square pillows and throw were non existent) 7 - No drawers to put your clothes in other than 1 in the dressing table 8 - Bathroom grout was mouldy in places 9 - every morning at 4 we were woken up by the cooking smell coming in via our aricon unit and it was sickly strong 10 - aircon - you couldn't even call it that, as you barely felt it. Turned it off in the end to avoid the 4am smell Outside feedback 1 - Cheesy sick smell that wafting up from the floors round the sunbeds - i think this was from water in between the grout missing in the tiles and all the spilt drinks that got trapped in there. 2 - Some sunbeds where broken, not enough back raising ones and not enough umbrellas for all - again all tatty and old 3 - Disposable green sprite cups for every drink: Cocktails / spirit mixers / soft drinks. Wine and beer was in disposable clear tumbler cups. Note for the hotel - again very cheap and not 4 star. 4 - Cocktails were not made by hand, they came out of a machine that were nothing like the real thing, just sugary and cheap. 5 - No sparkly wine on offer 6 - No branded spirits included in all inclusive 7 - If you want towels for the pool, you have to hire them at a cost 8 - Evening entertainment is quote basic - If you don't want to leave the hotel don't expect fireworks, it's a man with his mic, some lights and a speaker. And that varies from karaoke, to some music tracks, maybe the odd costume Location: Obviously do your research, Tenerife is one big hill and the further you are from the sea, the higher up you are. This hotel although a 15/20 min walk from the coast will be hard work those pushing buggies, with small children or with disabilities. It was fine for us as we were both able. Came as the family of 4 last week of august for 8 nights. Location is good 15 mins of walk to the sea, plenty of shops around and short walk to restaurants if u want to eat outside. Food is great we ate at the hotel 7 out of 8 days and we have always found good choice and things to eat every day. the hotel has huge potential and great location there is a lot of things that needs improving. THE BIGGEST DOWNFALL ARE THOSE GREEN SPRITE CUPS THEY USE TO SERVE DRINKS. THEY USE 1000SSS OF THEM EVERY DAY GET RID OF THEM WHAT A WASTE THEY ARE HORRIBLE. why not swap them with reusable plastic cup that people would happily buy at the check in??? i have seen people bringing they own reusable plastic cups so do that and you will thank me. there is not enough sunbeds for everyone and a lot of sunbed are very dirty broken or umbrellas are ripped to shreds . make this a priority this should be 1st thing on your list to do. Overall hotel is clean but the ladies toilet opposite the games table near the pool is broken it needs replacing is wobbly. There is not enough staff, when u go to get your drinks u will find a lot of time that the bar staff is also a waiter and is cleaning the plates and u stood at the bar waiting for ages. HOWEVER I MUST SAY SELF SERVE SOFT DRINKS/COFFEE IS AMAZING. OVERALL WE HAD GOOD STAY JUST PLEASE SWAP TO REUSABLE CUPS !!!

Not the most modern hotel but ticks all the boxes. All the staff are fantastic the food was ok sadly to English for me but the selection of fish we had was brilliant loved the whole baked fish on the buffet On tap Amstel beer good house wine acceptable but the red was two sweet Cocktails not so good But all in all fantastic time their

I had a great time with my family at the hotel and the staff were really nice aswell as helpful,a worker named Esperi was really fun and helpful with games and activities constantly making sure people were enjoying themselves and felt comfortable around the hotel,would totally come back the sun burn is worth it

Great hotel with a large pool area with lots of sunbeds. Nice cocktails and you can help yourself to soft drinks and beer. All lovely staff, they have all been helpful in every way they can. The animation team are absolutely brilliant from kids all the way upto adults, with activities all throughout the day and mini discos for the kids at night. Esperi from the animation team was one of the best entertainment people I’ve encountered at a hotel before, he made the stay so much better. He’s not very good at table tennis though .

Bear with this honest yet long review. Couples: avoid unless you are looking to join the families and groups who are here to party hard. Twin beds put together with no fixings so separate very easily on tiled floor. Very noisy day and night. Many families, mainly British with kids (who should really be in school but hey ho) Witnessed some great parenting and control but also an awful lot of irresponsible types who were happy to get wasted and not control their children, scary really, especially the child on top floor balcony on his own leaning right over. We are both HCPs and this was hard to watch. Us brits have clearly overtaken the germans when it comes to towel laying on the sunbeds too. Limited umbrellas and beds that actually work, hence no doubt this practice. If hotel simply provided more and fixed the broken ones, maybe the issue would disappear. That said bear in mind the hotel confirm no one can reserve these and if not used for approx. 20 mins you can remove the previously placed towels and use. If you dare antagonise those doing this. Drinks served in small plastic or cardboard cups. We used our own festival cups so not an issue and they were never queried. Point for hotel, maybe offer these to guests in the first place, reusable recyclable and do not damage the environment, unlike your current system. Just a thought. Hotel branded even. Keepsake? Hair dryer in bathroom, adequate but on a short lead of about 2 feet. Chipped cups in room, room service poor, no replenishment of dirty crockery. No tea /coffee making ingredients yet has a kettle and initial cups etc. You have to replenish from restaurant yourself so hardly 4 star as advertised. Cleaning left a lot to be desired with basic cleanliness omitted. Some issues with safe and kettle leaking but attended to quickly. Ran out of preferred alcohol on day 4 of 7 and never replaced. Unacceptable really in a holiday resort when paid for all inclusive. Some bars always closed despite having opening times on entrances. Seemed hotel wanted only pool area bar available to limit the lively people during our week, to outside. Fair enough when we seen damage caused by customers of pulling plants of of their beds etc after hearing a lively group the night before. Hopefully hotel seen the culprits on cameras and made them pay for damage caused. Entitled to an a la carte restaurant (only italian) when all inclusive, for one meal. We booked for a special occasion but sadly due to poor taxi service were late. The chef would not allow a delay of more than 10 mins as per local policy, despite the delay being due to a hotel taxi service. Reason was a large booking. We saw no more than 8 people at any time in this restaurant all week so maybe the chef has gordon ramsays ego but not his skills to deal with a 20 minute late guest but it certainly was not due to a busy restaurant. Well worth upgrading to a junior suite. we did not need the space but it was nice to have, save the issues above
