Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to you to express my deep disappointment with my stay at the Los Olivos Beach Resort. My planned short break in no way met the expectations I had for accommodation advertised as a 4-star facility. In fact, the actual quality was significantly below this standard. 1. Security Deficiencies in Apartment 244A The most serious problem was the lack of security in my apartment. My terrace had a staircase that led directly to a busy street. The gate on this staircase was broken and could not be locked – despite having a key. This meant that virtually anyone had unhindered access to my terrace and thus also to the bedrooms. These were only accessible through sliding doors leading to the terrace, with no other windows or escape routes. Safe ventilation overnight was therefore not possible, as we had to keep the doors closed for safety reasons. Combined with the complete lack of air conditioning, room temperatures reached around 35 degrees Celsius at night – unacceptable conditions, especially for children. 2. Significant deficiencies in service and amenities There was clearly a lack of staff in all areas of the hotel. • There was usually only one person at the reception, which regularly led to long wait times. • In the restaurant, tables were not cleared promptly, as there were only two waiters for around 30 tables. • Drinks were served in paper cups – completely inappropriate in a supposedly 4-star hotel. • There were no fresh juices; instead, only highly sugary industrial drinks were offered. • The quality of the breakfast buffet was in no way up to 4-star standards: limited selection, cheap ingredients, and little variety. All of these factors significantly impacted the relaxing quality of my stay. 3. Request for a refund Given the significant safety deficiencies, the poor quality of service, and the accommodations that did not meet my expectations, I believe a refund of at least 25% of the total price is justified. I request a prompt response and an appropriate resolution to this matter. Otherwise, I reserve the right to forward the case to the relevant consumer protection agency or my travel agent.
