Overall a nice holiday, but… We booked ‘All Inclusive’, which to my surprise came with A LOT of exceptions at this hotel. I’m not just talking about reasonable exceptions, branded spirits, some wines, but a far more restrictive offering. To begin with, two of the hotels three restaurants are not included, unless you count ‘all inclusive’ as a 40% discount on your bill! Many cocktails at the hotel bars are not included, just from memory, for example Mojitos, and anything with gin… a range of snacks are included, but many aren’t. Again, for example, margarita Pizza from the pool bar is included, but not pepperoni pizza… not even an extra surcharge here, margarita included, pepperoni, that’ll be eight euros. I like all inclusive to not have to think about this stuff. In previous experience, what’s available is generally included. On this break I felt I had to repeatedly perform tedious admin to check on the hotel app to find what was and wasn’t included in my ‘all inclusive’ booking. There were other irritations too. Having to book slots for lunch and dinner. Again, I don’t go on holiday looking to perform admin or be forced to plan my day. Also, long trousers in the restaurant at dinner? It was 30 degrees some days. Dress shorts should be acceptable. Changing from shorts into long trousers to eat, only to have to change back into shorts again afterwards was a chore. I don’t want to harp on. The hotel is nice enough, although at this point not really a 5 star. Apparently a refurb is planned in 2025. It’s just unfortunate the above issues did impact my enjoyment of my holiday, in particular the ‘all inclusive, option feeling plainly disingenuous.
