Although the hotel front desk knew that I was staying alone, they insisted on charging city tax for two people. The reason was that the order Ctrip gave to the hotel was marked as "two people staying"... Ctrip made a mistake, and the hotel took advantage of it, and the unlucky one was the customer!

We recently traveled from the US to Benin with a group of 20 people and stayed 7 nights at Golden Tulip Diplomate Cotonou. Our experience was fantastic from start to finish! Accommodating & helpful front desk staff, clean & comfortable rooms, wonderful daily housekeeping services. We utilized the breakfast buffet in the mornings and found a large variety of fresh foods to choose from each day. We also dined in the hotel's restaurant nightly. The food was good and the restaurant team was so organized and timely with serving a large group of our size. Every staff member we encountered throughout our stay was friendly and desired to assist us with anything we needed in that moment. A special thank you to the hotel manager for his professionalism and kindness! We would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Cotonou area. The location is convenient and you will enjoy your experience!

Would stay here any day!! Our best lodging this whole trip, customer service was on point. They took good care of us. I gave room service my baby bottles to wash every morning. I wish we stayed longer!! Breakfast has a vast variety of options and they have an airport shuttle!
In terms of WiFi tho very trash, I would be connected and would have to disconnect in order for anything to load on my phone. I feel like they should be able to do better with the WiFi.

Une très forte odeur d'humidité en arrivant à la réception et on ne ressent pas la climatisation. Dans les chambres, la climatisation ne refroidit pas beaucoup. Le personnel est extrêmement gentil mais manque de professionnalisme. Le compor**ent du staff au petit-déjeuner est très décevant; en effet, il est présent pour demander les numéros de chambre ensuite plus personne si vous avez besoin de quelque chose : pas de serviettes, ni de tasses sur la plupart des tables; on doit tout demander aux serveurs et serveuses : aucune proactivité de leur part. Le buffet est débarassé sans prévenir les clients Le responsable de la réception a fait preuve d'une grande gentillesse mais n'a pas fait remonter les informations à qui de droit afin qu'une action corrective puisse être menée, surtout pour le petit-déjeuner car le lendemain le service était aussi médiocre voire pire
