October 28/21. My husband and I just returned from several nights at this wonderful lodge. You know about the reports ( true) which reflect the superb fishing. I’d like to mention the food and the 9,000 sq foot lodge. When I first walked in, you are just pulled to the beautiful view! I marched right thru the glass doors and I had goosebumps. (What a cliff, ( phew!) very large deck, & the mountains as a backdrop against the White River just takes your breath away. We met couples from: Oregon, TN, and Texas. Elizabeth made a light , shrimp pasta with a 5 star dessert of German Choc Cake that was to die for and the next night we had steaks with grilled Veggies and loaded potatoes and I do mean “loaded.” ( 2 different styles of yummy salads too) Steve and a Elizabeth will do just about anything to make you feel at home. “Z” is their well behaved Standard Poodle ; she is so sweet and beautiful. Our room was very nice with heavy duty Mission furniture and the shower is so strong, ( I hate weak showers) the walk out area, decks, for the fresh air and view, is special. The Nespresso machine in the room is nice but if you prefer an espresso, we’ll Steve or a Elizabeth will fix you up. There’s an area with any drink you could imagine, ice, premium glasses, snacks , and all steps from your suite. No need to go to the kitchen. Enormous Pendleton Chief Blankets are in your closet for the porch. We actually used them sitting under the stars. We have stayed in luxury camps in 5 countries in Africa, Same type of lodge style in New Zealand too. White River Inn is a shinning star. 3 nights seems perfect. However, I don’t fly fish. All the other ladies ( girlfriend and 3 wives) did fish. So a few couples stayed beyond 3 days and they were having a blast. So, that is personal.
