Nice historical hotel on one of the main streets. The room was too small, the floor uneven. Basic amenities : drinking water, ironing board. No fridge, no water kettle. Completely overpriced, not at expected standards. Not recommended.

It turns out that the hotel in Cork does not necessarily have air conditioning. You must be mentally prepared for staying in the summer. The location of the hotel in the city center is convenient!

Stayed one night on tour. Friendly welcome, glad that we checked where the car park was beforehand, which is an extra charge. High up room as requested, very clean, a little noise from the busy road below. Enjoyed the evening meal. Super pub Sin e 5 minutes down the road. No complaints, Good location.

Really lovely, charming hotel. We stay here for business on a regular basis. Rooms can be a bit ‘hit and miss’ but usually very good standard. The staff here are the key to a great stay. Reception staff very accommodating- Brian and Martin extremely helpful with the meeting rooms. Special mention for Violetta and the staff in the restaurant/bar. All very professional ( with the exception of one staff member serving lunch with plastic gloves on!) Prices are competitive. This is a relaxing hotel- take time to enjoy it.

Sadly, rooms are no more than a 3 star hotel with 4 star prices. Sink was badly cracked, bathrooms tiles very dated [with irish tricolor - v. odd] - bathroom door positioned really badly - had to squeeze round it! However the rooms were quiet & clean - which is major for us. Bit of a warren. Friendly. No room views. Good mattresses. Food was fine. Although, TWICE I had errors on my restaurant/bar bills which is inexcusable. That said - we will be back - as positives outweigh negatives for a short stay.

The Metropole was delightful. All of the staff members were exceptional. We had great service for breakfast, dinners and at the bar. They were also very accommodating of our Irish family coming to visit. We will most definitely return. The location is also great for getting to the city center. Bus stops close by as well.
