The Anchor Inn

We have enjoyed what will be 4 nights at the Anchor when we checkout tomorrow. Our twin bedded room has been warm, cosy and well equipped. With a fabulous high pressure hot shower; most welcome after long coastal walks. Fresh towels and replenished tea trays, with delightful staff attending to our every need. Nothing has been too much trouble! The bar has a fantastic vibe, friendly and welcoming. The location, unmatched! Perfect as a base for exploring the island, round the corner from the bus stop into Newport and a stones throw from local restaurants and cafes. Superb value for money. We enjoyed a meal on our second night. Chicken and gammon pie with green peas, and a Ploughman’s, proper pub grub! Live music on our third night, great fun. Highly recommended.

Generous room well decorated. The bathroom was roomy but would have benefited from a few hooks for towels & clothing. No breakfast available and no recommendation on where to eat but we found a good option at Harbour Kitchen just down the road.

A great place to stay, right in the heart of Cowes. Great music, a**osphere and staff. All staff were friendly, helpful and a joy to be around. The room was clean and comfortable and suited its purpose. Will stay again for sure.

Lovely place to enjoy a bit of a lively drink and social time. Got plenty of different beers and ciders. Good friendly staff with some decent pub food. Lots of little nooks and crannies to sit in with friends.

Budget hotel twin room above the pub. Ideal for one night stay. Room was small but adequate for stopover night break. Private bathroom but not ensuite - so inconvenient to use during the night. No breakfast on offer. Room was basic but quiet.

Potentially the best roast dinner I’ve ever had. If travelling back on the ferry from East Cowes make sure you give yourselves time to eat here first. Tried to get in to several places elsewhere on the island but had left until the last minute and failed miserably. Can’t begin to tell you how pleased I am that we ended up in the Anchor. Amazing food, amazing service. Honestly, can’t fault one thing. 100% trust me.
