Overall a really nice place and we enjoyed our stay.
Would say that the resort and restaurants were under staffed….

Based on reviews I expected more from this resort. They did not pick us up from the airport although we arranged it through the resort. It took over an hour to check in. The food was a disappointment. The guy at the airport sells me some sort of a timeshare or membership lunch without telling me that’s what he is selling. So I got swindled out of $50 which was annoying. I explained to supervisor at the resort but he didn’t really care. No refund for missed shuttle, no refund for fake excursion. I ended up paying twice and doing it on my own. Not a great experience for our 20th Anniversary. The location is nice, the beach was lovely and the property was clean and quiet. All of the employees were very nice.

The snorkeling at Secrets Aura Cozumel is very good and one of the main reasons we stay there. This was our third time to stay and noticed the customer service in some of the restaurants was not as good as in the past. Mainly in Oceana. On this visit some of the restaurants would close for evening dinner which resulted in long waits at the restaurants that were opened. On two occasions we waited 45 minutes to an hour. The waiters seemed overwhelmed which resulted in poor customer service. We also encountered this at lunch in Oceana which was open for Preferred members only. We had gone for lunch a couple of times but on one occasion we were given a very rude waiter and decided not to go back for lunch even though the food was very good. We didn't have any problems with any of the other restaurants. Some of the staff understand good customer service which was very appreciated. Unfortunately bad apples can ruin the perspective of the whole bunch.

Habitación sin agua caliente, sucia, las sabanas manchadas, el aire no funciona, huele a humedad, pocos restaurantes, muy limitado el acceso a ellos, no compres el todo incluido, no lo ocupas, es mejor salir a comer y cenar

I wouldn’t waste my money, very unsatisfying, horribly room service, actually no room service at all, understaffed, no food or plates for breakfast. Overall 1.5 star

The sewage smell is awful in the rooms. The jets in the jacuzzi tube don’t work. The maintenance is very slow if they show up at all. The food is terrible. Very little English. Stingy with the alcohol. What they consider a mini bar in the room is a joke. Not very informative about excursions, ferry, off resort shopping, etc. Overall, extremely disappointed.

We arrived at 145pm and was told we had a swim out room. When I told them it was an ocean view swim out the seemed confused and was told our room would be ready at 3pm. We returned at 330pm and was told it would be 10 minutes. We returned at 4 pm and was told it wasn’t ready yet but they would go and check. He came back and said the room was ready. We went to the room and found the chain lock on the desk and it looked like the door was kicked in. I went to the front desk and was told they would fix it. We did not feel safe in that room. They showed us another room that was old and out dated and smelled of mildew but the door looked safe so we took it. Also the first room had out bottle of wine with no glasses. Went to get a shower and the water pressure was very low and the temp was like warm at best. The next day we had no water for hours. It was eventually fixed but still like warm water. The buffet was repetitive for all meals and not many selections. Ala cart restaurants were fairly good food most of the time matched the menu description by about half. The staff was very good is the upside to this resort. It is definitely not up to the Secrets brand

I expected a lot better customer service to a uvc member than what a dreams hotel has offered us being that a secrets hotel is considered a better category
