Mattress in the room I had was worn, and for me, uncomfortable. To travel to Malham you need a car. I wanted to travel a couple miles away and the manager said I would have to call a taxi from Skipton. Fortunately, a staff member reminded her (the manager) about the mid morning bus I could catch. Without that input I would have had to spend closer to 30 pounds on the taxi versus the 2 pounds on the bus. Seems like information the property manager should have provided to me. If that staff member had not been within earshot I would have had to pay far more. The inclusive breakfast buffet was nice but found the evening pub meal average, though pub setting is cosy.

Great room, food and drink and the staff were all friendly and attentive. I’ll definitely stay there again.

The pub and accommodation is set at the heart of Malham village, perfect for exploring the Cove and Gordale Scar. I've been many times for drinks and food previously, this was the first time stopping over in their accommodation. It’s a typical country pub, open fires, quirky character and full of life. It has accommodation above and to the rear of the pub, and also a short distance away in the converted barn accommodation. We were quite disappointed by the room to the rear of the pub. It was located on the ground floor with the bedroom door directly off the beer garden (no lobby), the layout was cramped rather than ‘cosy’ with little to no natural daylight, a ‘view’ of about 2 metres on to a grey breeze block wall and a utility tank. The bathroom was not a size that it could only be used by one, with the wash hand basis literally behind the door. The accommodation was simply not up to standard for the price charged. We did raise this with the management who did eventually arrange a change of room having initially shown us a little 'attitude'. The range of bar food is drinks is good, if a little on the expensive side for what you get. Breakfasts were good although sausages could have done with a few more minutes and the filter coffee was extremely weak. A few little changes would make all the difference to the feel of the place: a large stack of children's high chairs at the side of the log burning stove in the bar, having to navigate Henry the Hoover in the main entrance to the accommodation etc. I stay in a lot of hotels and it’s things like this that stand out. Overall, the problem with the room took the edge off the visit for us. Would we stay again, not sure, the location is great, that’s what makes it popular. For the price charged there are lots of alternatives around. TRAVELLERS TIP - ROOM 10 IS TO BE AVOIDED (Cosy Room) - request another at the time of making your booking.

Absolutely wonderful place. Warm and friendly with welcoming, helpful and attentive staff. We stayed for one night and had dinner and breakfast and the food was amazing! The room was beautifully decorated and stylish and clean. Absolutely perfect. Can't recommend this place enough! Loved it! Thank you to all the staff.

ALL EXCELLENT. We recently stayed for 6 nights and were delighted with everything. Our room (11) was on the ground floor and was very large with settee etc. 10/10 for room. Staff all brilliant, despite being a large team, each seemingly working different days. Staff 10/10, but for breakfast TIM served most people and he was amazing and he made things happen always with a smile. Tim 12/10. We had dinner there most evening and this was all cooked and presented well. We thought breakfast was all we could ever need.

This was a friendly, well run hotel. The food was good and Malham was a good location for a meeting with my son. I visitted the hotel some years ago and was pleased to see that it was still good.

Spent three days at the Lister Arms. The place and staff and food were all excellent however after booking r a larger room we were very disappointed. It was dingy and dark as the back overlooked a tiny dark space and the front window overlooked the enterence to the bar and dining area, we therefore had to keep the blind closed due to people passing in an out due to the fine weather. We did try to change rooms but it was fully booked.

We visited the Lister Arms as a group of 5 and found the food and service excellent. The menu included a good selection of vegetarian options as 1 of our group was vegetarian. The service was fantastic and we all enjoyed the evening, I would highly recommend.

Beautiful quaint family style country inn where pets and patrons are welcome. While this is a very old structure it has been very well maintained and the rooms have significant improvements providing a very comfortable stay. Our ground floor room was both rustic with all the modern conveniences a huge comfy bed, small sofa and two chairs. There was a generous assortment of coffees, teas, hot chocolate and biscuits replenished each day. The rooms were spotlessly clean and provided everything you need for a comfortable stay. Breakfast each morning was freshly prepared to order and was delicious, as were all the meals we had in the dining room. Prices for food were reasonable made with good quality ingredients we enjoyed every meal. While the location is somewhat remote, I would recommend the Lister Arms for a comfortable break in the country.
