It was a spacious room, nice and comfortable mattress. Although it is next to the main road, it was quiet at night.
Lovely view to the back, they call it river view. It is a cannel where had a lot of ducks, geese and swan swimming up and down.
A good place to stay.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for a weekend away in Skipton. We had a great time the hotel was in a great location only a small walk down the canal to skipton centre. The room was spacious, while also looking over the canal as well. Our stay included breakfast which we also enjoyed, the breakfast had plenty of options. we were offered hot drinks and toast as soon as we sat down. The manager I think his name was “James”, was really helpful and he stood out to us a lot. He was extremely friendly and gave us some advice on where to go in the area. Which was something we appreciated as this was our first trip to skipton.

This hotel could be so much better. It has the advantage of a great location, plenty of parking and our canal side room although a little dated was comfortable and quiet. However the customer service is very poor. Maybe the staff just need training but where is the management? Our dinner experience on the Friday night was awful. Asides from waiting to be seated with no acknowledgement from the staff , when we were shown to a table the service was terrible. The drink I ordered I ended up wearing when it slipped off the tray. An accident of course but not dealt with in a professional manner. Instead we had to change the chairs and mop up with napkins. When our mains arrived we still had the starters plates on the table and the waitress remarked , I don’t know what’s going on here! We watched food arrive to the wrong tables and our mains was luke warm. The steak was returned and after waiting some considerable time with no update we decided to leave. We asked for a manager who eventually arrived and she promised to contact us the next day once she had looked into the matter. She never did! To date I am still waiting on a response or at least an acknowledgement to my email raising my concerns. Was not surprised to read the last review here regarding a very similar experience this weekend! I understand this hotel is under new management. Hopefully the new manager will sort out these issues and reply to my email

Disappointing visit Breakfast Food cold Eggs overcooked hard egg yolk Over an hour wait for main course at dinner Saturday night Waiter admitted they had forgotten our main course order telling us " your food is being cooked now" I'm diabetic blood sugar was low and had to eat glucose sweets before food eventually arrived after another wait Standards have definitely dropped since our last visit Waiting staff were disorganised Wrong food orders being sent to customers So sad as we've been before to this hotel and loved it We're aware it's changed hands but not for the better Sadly we won't return

Check out could have been better only one person working who was dealing with long phone call, this caused a queue waiting to check out.
Solution, more safe at desk or on the phone until the 10am checkout deadline.

We came after seeing the lunch deal advertised on social media. At £14.95 per person for a starter, main and a glass of wine, it was great value and nice well presented food. The canalside restaurant has great views and was a pleasant place to eat, and the staff were friendly and efficient.
